Volume button controls TV volume instead of Receiver volume (despite the setup)

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I'm trying to set the volume button (up/down) to control the volume of my receiver regardless of the active device mode but it doesn't work.

It only works if my receiver is selected (it's on the VCR/Aux button).

If I have selected the ps3, tv, or xbox 360, it actually changes the volume on my TV.

I've set the volume button to use the receiver for all device modes, as you can see here:

I pressed saved everywhere and synched the remote multiple times.

Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug?

What can I do to make this work? I have to push on the VCR/Aux button back and forth every time I want to change the volume :smileysad:

Thanks.

Re: Volume button controls TV volume instead of Receiver volume (despite the setup)

After changing what the Watch TV button does multiple times (because I had another issue) and synching multiple times, the volume button now works properly and controls the receiver regarless of the mode.

Re: Volume button controls TV volume instead of Receiver volume (despite the setup)

Do you have any idea how you fixed this problem? I am having the same issue .. have set it up several times to control Volume with my AV Receiver during 'Watch TV' activity. The remote (Harmony 650) controls the AV Receiver volume for all the other activities except Watch TV. I've been checking, updating and syncing for over an hour now and I can't get it to work. At first, it was controlling the TV volume (wrong but at least there was some volume control) an now it's not doing anything. Help!!

Re: Volume button controls TV volume instead of Receiver volume (despite the setup)

From Romain's images I think it was a H200 or H300 which can only be configured with MyHarmony.com

From the details provided I reckon the cause remains a mystery - although it does sound like a glitch, and reports suggest other problems can occur with MyHarmony.com

Luckily H650 can use the much better v.7.7.0 Stand alone Software, which is downloaded and installed on PC and has help in the support tab on each page. It is reliable and much more flexible, so in the long run you could be better off with that.
