The software can't seem to locate codes for an HR24 receiver. Anybody have any suggestions.

Put it in as an HR20, they all use the same command set

It can't find that either. It keeps wanting to learn the commands. I am using the newest software, 7.7.

Nope. It can't find that either. It found all of my other components without issue.

It can't find anything beginning with HR. It can find receivers beginning with an H.

I have 4 different DirecTV HD DVRs and I have not had a problem entering any of them.  How are you tring to add them as devices?  It should be added as a Video Recorder/PVR, Mfg DirecTV, Model # HR20--700

I am trying to add a device.

1. Add a Device

2.Cable/Satelite Box

3. Satelite

4. Driec TV

5. HR20-700

Then it asks if I have a remote. I say yes. Then it says it can't find that model number and starts asking to learn commands.

Customer support told me that when it asks if I have a remote that I should say no, which will force the software to apply the most suitable codes in the database. I will give that a shot.

I tried going through digital recorders, and it still can't find the model number of any HR boxes. I typed in the example it gave..."Direct TV Plus HD DVR"

Finally it matched up and didn't aske me to help it "learn" commands. I will report back if this is a success.

I think it has something to do with the 7.7 software. None of the HR's are in the database.
