iPhone Harmony app - Controls pane disabled because "Nothing appears to be on"

I have had the Logitech Revue for a few months and love it. I also have iPhone so I downloaded the Harmony app to control the Revue (and my components). I really like the app, but my biggest complaint is that half the time I use the app the control pane is disabled with the following message:

Controls are not available because nothing appears to be on

In my case I may use the iPhone app to turn the equipment off, but I (or someone else) may not use the app to turn the system back on. Someone may manually fire up the TV/Reciever or use the keyboard. Then, if I use one touch as asked by the controls pane, everything is switched off and I'm forced to turn them on one by one.

Why does the app care if they are on or off, just control them if I ask it to. I would love to see an update to the app that at least adds a button to the controls pane when they are disabled stating "Devices are on" which I could click and then have access to the full control set (without sending commands to turn them on (which in my case turns them off).

I switched to using the GoogleTV app, but it doesn't connect to my Revue with repeated use very well (no where near as good as the Harmony app).

Anyway  - would love to see an update to the Harmony app that would allow me to say the devices are on (from the controls pane) and just let me control my devices\Revue.

Re: iPhone Harmony app - Controls pane disabled because "Nothing appears to be on"

Found the solution in another post (I should have looked better :smileyhappy:).

If you're looking for the smartphone app to simply control the Revue, TV, AVR, STB, but not power them ON/OFF: re-setup the Watch Google TV activity with the option to keep these devices on all the time.

Here's how you can re-setup the Watch Google TV Activity:

1. On the Revue, navigate to: Applications > Settings > Input Devices > Manage Paired Phones

2. Choose Configure Watch Google TV Activity

3. Click Continue

4. Choose which devices will be Always-On

5. Follow the rest of the setup wizard

This way, when you start the Watch Google TV activity from your smartphone, the app will make no attempt to power these devices ON or OFF.
