STUPID GEO-RESTRICTIONS!!!
I can add confirmation that although it took a bunch of failed alternative attempts, I eventually got the update done myself by signing up for a free trial of the hideipvpn.com service, setting up ICS (Internet Connection Sharing, since that acronym has a whole new and more popular meaning now) on my laptop and a crossover cable between my laptop and the Revue. There does most definitely appear to be something preventing non-US IP's from doing this stupid update

Btw, the Tip (reset “Google Account”- click here) suggestion is for Revue connected via US IP’s (& not for Sony GoogleTV - or for Revue connected via non-US IP’s).
However, it seems there is a workaround for non-US IP’s , its posted by a user @ this forum – click here (or see above comments).

I am not in the US, and was having a real hard time getting the Market update to get out of the update/updating loop. Tried power cycling several times, ctrl-alt-deleting many times. I didn't know if it was the Revue box, or the georestrictions placed on the box.
I instead did a google search for "Google Play apk" and found a link to the Google Play apk file. I downloaded on the Revue, installed and had Google Play accessible. Market is still in my apps, but I've just removed it from the home screen and replaced it with the Google Play icon.
Now I just need to find some must-have apps for my now functioning Google TV.

Hi,
Can you search apps and install from the Market now?
I am also outside of US. To solve the Market update issue, I had to VPN to US. I have Google play on my Revue now but I still can't access it without VPN to the US. I can only access, search and install if I VPN to US.
I think Logitech/Google restrict the access to US users only. Don't know when they would remove the restriction.

Interesting... downloading and installing the APK was one of the first things I tried, but my revue just reported that it couldn't do anything with the file. Is there a special procedure that I perhaps was unaware of to do an install?
Personally, I haven't had any problems with installing software from where I am in Canada. I also as part of my troubleshooting used Chrome to navigate to the Play Store and add an app to my account. That app was automatically installed as soon as I got the Play upgrade sorted out.

Hello Everyone, i am also having the same problem, I just bought a logitech revue and its taking so long to update. i also can't launch Pandora app it stays frozen. I tried deleting my account then adding it again....still the same
THis so annoying i am from Colombia. Thanks

I tried many of the possible solutions listed here short of installing the apk, which sounded like only a partial solution, anyway. Removing and then re-adding my Google account finally did the trick. I've been trying for days with the soft resets, hard resets, opening the market app, and so on and so forth. All I ever got was "Updating..." I once left that screen up overnight with no dice. I deleted my Google account, re-added it, and then opened the Market and it installed right away. I was also able to update the AOL HD app, Redux app, and the NBA app which have been fussy about updating lately.
I installed the Google Play Music app and will see how it handles importing my iTunes library. Not that I need it. My iPod already docks with my receiver such that I can control it with my remote anyway. Now, it'd be nice to get access to the movies portion through the app. Having access to additional content is nice. Having that access through an app optimized for Google TV is better so I can use my Harmony remote instead of needing to pull out the keyboard to use the trackpad like with Amazon Instant Video.
