Cannot update YouTube nor TV & Movies apps

I'm currently running YouTube v1.1 and TV & Movies v1.0.1.8.  System build version is: KA2X-20111123.091818.user-b61925

 

I've been unable to update YouTube to v1.2 (released on 2/13/12) nor TV & Movies to v1.1.0-15 (released on 1/18/12).

 

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Installing using the "Update" button from My Apps
  • Installing using the "Install" button from the "See Details" view of the App in the Market
  • Installing via the http://market.android.com [ortal on a laptop and choosing my Revue as my destination
  • Soft restart (CTRL-ALT-DEL) several times
  • Force stop and clear data for Market, Market Feedback, Market Updater
  • Full factory reset
  • Using a brand new Gmail account

Each time I try to install or update these apps I get the following errors:

 

Update of "TV & Movies for Google TV" unsuccessful

Update of "YouTube for Google TV" unsuccessful

 

I've fully run out of ideas on my end.   Does anyone here have other things for me to try?  Thanks in advance :smileyhappy:

Hello deckerbm,

 

For Youtube try to do the Ctrl+ALT+DEL then choose the Youtube app from the feature apps section and update from there.

Doing a Ctrl-ALT-DEL then installing YouTube via the "Featured for TV" section yielded the same results.  Installation unsuccessful.

Hello deskerbm,

Have you tried removing your gmail account and readding it again?

 

Even try the same thing as above, but do the reset, then go into the YouTube app and then exit it and then try to update the app from the Featured for TV section. (I am just trying to remember everything I did before I did the update.)

Hi Cat,


Yes, I've tried removing and re-adding my gmail.  I've also tried using a completely new gmail account.  I will try going into YouTube, then exiting out and trying the update again.   Thanks for your help on this issue.

 

Edit:  Just tried the above and it made no difference.

 

I should probably also mention that I called Logitech Support on Saturday and was on the phone for about 30 minutes before she escalated it to a Tier 2.  I'm awaiting a call back from them.

Hello deckerbm,

if you tried those things and they did not work it would definitely be best to wait for the Tier 2 agent to get back to you.

 

Just a quick question; are you setup using a static IP?

I am on DHCP but I've also tried using Static IP.  I've also tried Google's DNS as well as my ISP's DNS servers.

 

I'll await help from Tier 2 and will update here with what we find.

You would want the ones we have posted DNS1: 8.8.8.8. DNS2: 8.8.4.4 and choose static for IP settings then filll everything out accordingly and try again. This is just so that everything is tried and made note of in the case. If you can also PM me your case number if you know it or your email address if you do not and I will add all this to your case as well.
