I would like to extract the Netflix App from my Revue to try out on another Android TV box i have.

I usually just use 'App Backup' to back the app up and then copy of the file from the backup.

When i use App Backup on the Revue it does not backup the Netflix App, i am guessing this is because the Netflix app was pre-installed when my Revue arrive.

If there a way to extract the Netflix App?

The reason i ask is that the Revue version of Netflix differs (the UI) from the version available in the market.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

The Netflix App has been enbedded into the Google OS or at least Netflix does their App then gives it to Google who includes it in the OS then Google sends off their OS to third parties to have them ready it for their hardware. I am not sure if there would be a way to extract it.

To answer my own question if anyone is intetested, to extract the Netflix app (and any other preinstalled apps), simply go to directory /system/app and copy the apk file from there

Can any of the fine experts on this forum confirm whether this procedure actually works?  I'm interested in finding a way to use the Revue's Logitech Vid app in my android-based tablet.

Yes I did this to get the Netflix.apk ti use on a different Android box

Got the file okay but wamnt compatible with my other box.

Does accessing the directory first require rooting the Revue?

No, I have not rooted my Revue

OK, then I guess my problem is that I don't know how to access the Revue's directory structure.

I use ES File Explorer, its free from the play store
