Hi GadgetVictim,
What's the make/model of the TV you are using with your Revue? There may be a way to switch inputs directly to HDMI1-4 (or any input) without having to use the TV input menu, direction up/down, and/or the select/ok key. Here's how to test the commands that the Revue is using:
1. Start by customizing the controller keys: Home > Applications > Settings > Input devices > Customize controller keys
2. Select an unmapped key from your keyboard, press OK
3. Choose the device: TV
4. Choose a command that starts with the word "input". (Depending on the make/model of your TV, you may or may not see commands that look like InputTV, InputVideo1, InputHDMI3, InputPC, InputComponent2, etc)
5. Click OK
6. Click on Save
7. Test out the key that you mapped. Does it switch to any input on your TV? Some commands may work, some may not. Note what works for you.
8. Go back to step 1, and map some more "input" commands to the keyboard, test those out too.
9. After you are finished testing, remove what you don't need, keep what you do.
Let us know if that works for you. Even though your original remote may not have these commands, the TV itself may already know how to take advantage of these discrete commands that we use for Harmony Remotes.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Marks,
Thank you for quick response.
I have two Revues hook up to two HD TV's, both made by Samsung.
The model numbers for the TV's are: LN46A580P6FXZA and LN40A540P2FXZA.
They're 46" and 40" respectively.
I am familiar with this key setup function, as I have previously used it to setup keys to perform some of my cable remote functions that I could not find on the Revue keyboard (e.g.., Favorites channel list, etc.). However, after I found the list for "Keyboard Controller shortcuts for Chrome" in the Q/A section, many of the ones that I previously set up disappeared.
It will take me while to try out your recommendation, and I'll get back to you on how it turns out.
I have another related question: The issue is I can't find the Revue key that does "a right character delete". In other words, the key that deletes the character to the right of curser. So in this case, how do I setup a key to do this?
Final question: As you can tell, I'm new to this Forum (joined yesterday), and I have a question related to setting up and accessing an NAS device. I haven't yet purchased an NAS, but was confused as to where in this community of forums do I determine where to pose my question?
Sincerely, thank you! A true GadgetVictim

Mark,
I did as you recommended, and got some mixed results. But, I'm not sure if I fully understand criterion for HDMI.
I tested both Revues and Samsung TV. Each TV had 3 HDMI Inputs available on Revue Customized Key function.
I customized 3 keys for each of the HDMI inputs.
The 46" TV seem to work okay. But, I could not get it to switch off its HDMI-1 to another HDMI input. This could be because there was nothing connected to the other 2 HDMI inputs. However, I could get it to toggle HDMI inputs by hitting the respective customized keys. Also, when I hit FN+TV it when back to HDMI-1, which was my standard TV/Revue input.
I got some very strange results from the 40" Samsung TV. Did the same customization on 3 keys. On this TV, once I got into HDMI-2 (which was connected to my Sony BD) the only way I could get back to HDMI-1 was to first switch to HDMI-3 and then go to HDMI-1. I could connect to HDMI-2 from either path, but could never go to HDMI-2 from HDMI-1.
The variable that I don't understand is the impact of what and was not connected to HDMI-2.
The good news is now I can get back to the HDMI-1 input on either TV, without having to stand up and look for the remote control for the respective TV's.

PS: Please note the questions I asked on my previous message.

This device is sold and advertised as having the capabilities of a Harmony remote, and of enabling a Harmony Remote app via Android.
The thing that makes a Harmony Remote better than others, is its ability to remember the state of each device, and to run all the steps for any given action automatically with one keypress. Not to mention the ability to include ALL of one's controllable devices in those steps, and render ALL other remotes unnecessary.
As a control device, this box fails to live up to its claims. I have a Harmony Remote for Xbox 360; I have had it for a few years now, and it has been a very good device. It can turn on and control DVD playback on my Xbox, and it can automatically switch all the necessary inputs and outputs between Xbox and WIll and Ipod Dock with my Receiver and my TV. None of this automation is possible with the Revue.
The Revue is a HUGE step backwards from this, and I am very disappointed that the Android Harmony App seems to totally lack the unique functonality of a Harmony remote.
I like the web access that Revue provides... but it's really not very good to me if it doesn't adequately replace the old Harmony remote, whose buttons are gradually failing to work properly.
What makes me completely nuts here, is that all the shorfalls could be addressed with better software. I have a few days to decide whether to return it to Best Buy, and whether I do so or not will probably depend on the answer to this question:
Is there a NEAR FUTURE plan from Logitech to update the remote controlling capabilities of the Revue's software so that it can function as intelligently as a Harmony Remote? WHEN IS THE ANDROID MARKETPLACE DUE TO ARRIVE???
I need to see some very real promises of serious software improvement on this thing, or it is going back and not likely to buy the next one either.

Hi Mark,
I am in Australia and ordered Revue from amazon for its great price(not delivered yet). I once expected ps3 as a one for all media centre, now at least I don't put much hope on any product except for pc. I want to ask two questions after reading many negative posts:
1. Does revue support Chinese text display? I know it doesn't support Chinese input, but hope it is able to show Chinese text normally so I can watch chinese videos on youtube.
2. People are talking about honeycomb but it seems to have some issues as well. Do Logitech or Google have offcial support/update lifecycle for Revue? Is honeycomb the end of the road for Revue? Or still something coming as per plan.
Thanks in advance, if you or someone else could answer.

I don't have an HDMI or DVI interface on my TV. However my 1080p computer(non-TV) monitors have both. Can I connect the Revue to either of my computer monitors?

I belive so, though you may need an HDCP compliant monitor for it to work.

Many thanks for your feedback.
Both monitors have HDCP support listed and then when you look closer in the specs under "DVI Input" it states "DVI with HDCP". That is it.
