It would not be an Andriod app it would be a Logitech app and done via DLNA Digital Living Network Alliance.

I'm sorry but I am a little slow tonight... then I will be able to access my movie content through the network but will be limited to 40GB? Or did I read that wrong and I will be able to access lets say 20TB worth of movie content through the network... as long as I am using an interface on my pc or server such as the latest windows media player... Obviously I am looking for an interface to play movies locally through my network and I am wondering if this is a clean solution outside of other current alternatives....

Yes you will be able to access any media connected to to your computer via DLNA.  The 40mb limit was for Drives attached to the Revue but that limit is now 895mb.

Re: FAQ, How-to Videos, Tips & Tricks Blog

Thank you so much for the information... I have attached a link for DLNA just so others can view what exactly it means just in case they do not...

http://www.dlna.org/digital_living/how_it_works/

Does the interface on the device have the ability to sort content and display movie information and trailers without having to have the movie cover image, movie information or trailer in the movie folder as other interfaces can or is the GUI more of a shell than anything else? Thanks again... I am one step closer to buying one tomorrow...

Re: FAQs, How-to Videos, Tips & Tricks Blog

Couldn't you use something like this for OTA television?

http://www.amazon.com/Kworld-HDmi-External-Digital-Tuner/dp/B002RL8I2W/ref=pd_cp_e_3_img

The Revue would not change channels for you but it should pass the signal through. In the Sony store they told be the same thing for Tivo - you could run it through the Google TV box, but you'd have to use the Tivo remote. So unless I am mistaken you don't get the full power of the device, but instead you layer all the apps on top of it.

Would love to know if I am wrong in this.

Yes the recessed button labeled TV at the very top just to the left of the touchpad.  Next to it are buttons to also toggle power for your Set Top Box and Audio Video Receiver.

Re: FAQs, How-to Videos, Tips & Tricks Blog

My experience with the revue has not been a good one. I picked up one from bestbuy yesterday and spent most of the evening trying to get it set up. initially it looked promising, but almost immediately it slowed to a very unresponsive crawl. it finally downloaded it's update and rebooted. this time the start up animation chugged, and was an indication of what was to follow. it was slower than before.. once i finally got through the initial setup, the welcome video played back unbearably choppy. i decided to try rebooting and it seemed to work at first. the startup animation was smooth and the menus and mouse were very responsive, but within minutes it just choked and was back to slow and unresponsive. maybe i needed to give it a few minutes.
at this point my wife is NOT happy that what i'd thought would have taken 10 minutes (30 mins at the most) had now been going on 4 hours. i decided to unhook it and deal with this later. this morning i tried again and it was the same.. i'm very disappointed and hoping that it's just the one i picked up. i got a bad one.. so i took it back to bestbuy and exchanged for a new one.
tonight i gave it a go again. right from the start this wasn't looking good. it started up and hung at the google tv logo for a little while, then just wen black then stopped transmitting a signal to the tv.. i tried resetting, verified connections and still the same thing.. google tv logo, then nothing.
is anyone else experiencing anything like this? i've looked around and couldn't find anything.  please logitech HELP!!! I want this to work so bad, otherwise i lose and wifey wins and instead of this we'll be buying something of her choice. I am a techie that develops flash and android platforms, so i have very high hopes for the android platform and very excited about debut of google tv. again, please help me. i really don't wanna have to return this.
