This is a prime example why Logitech should let us root and custom the rom.
I have made several roms for 2.1 , 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, and now the 4.0.3. it takes a bit of time but able to make everything run smooth on the limited hardware. The easy fix would be let us root the rom, and install titanium backup and then we could delete the apk and add the new google play store. Also if the device was rooted then I think Revue would become more usable.
I would love to use vulkano on my google tv, but of course it won't work!
The either get the root or get us a gap to flash and fix it would be easy way, or you could always let us make our own custom roms like most android devices.

Alteran, you got right bro!
If they do not want support Revue anymore, at least would allow others to do so!
Revue will get another value if bootloader and root will be available!

Still not fixed. All I get when trying to use the Market is some page that says Google Play and has a non-functioning search box. Lousy update rollout. Not unexpected.
I live in the U.S.

Same problem here.
I saw an update for the Market.
Tried to update it but it failed.
Now when I go to the Market on my Revue I get a blank Google Play page with a search box and a "URL not found" error message.
I am located outside the USA

It seems that we can install "Google Play" using dropbox as this translated page show: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&

That link will not work, because of 1 main reason, you can not over write the market with out the proper rights. The only way this will be solved is if we get super user rights (root) or logitech sends a update. no work arounds

I already tried the manual install that is the most common way of thinking. going in to systems and check the allow unkown and then dowloading the com.android.vending-2.apk to the usb to be installed. It don't work because of a rights issue. So either you would have to mod your box, which I am not willing to do, since I have 3 box's. Or we need a update from logitech or the greatest thing to let us root it and design the updated rom. I could easy get ICS on this device since it uses no touch. However logitech is being a baby's about it.
The whole reason for Android was so that the sytem could be open. Not like Apple crap products that they want to control everything. Just let us have the code.

I am very new to this stuff but I put the apk in my dropbox from my laptop then open dropbox.com on my GTV, download the apk to the GTV then run it, it create a new app, It did not overwrite the market but I now have Google Play and it works. Since am new to this I dont know the down side to my approach.

Yea I tried that way too, however the apk you must of used did not id it's self as the market. The one I used had the ID for the maket so it would not over write it. Did you check that your apps can be updated thru the new apk? And did you check if your system uses the google play for default market? If it does I would like to try that. Also the link you put up for the japaneese web site that apk is no longer accessable. Is the ID for that one vendor 1 or 2?

Cat,
I've rebooted, and also selected "forget the network" - still a no-go. I didn't want to do a factory reset, since I'd lose everything, but it won't even let me do a factory reset, just keeps going in a loop - confirming "erase everything", but thenasking me if i want to erase everything.
So, the net is that many of the apps that came pre-installed on the Revue are missing, and all of the apps that I downloaded are missing, and I can't use search or Chrome, but I can watch movies on Netflix...
What the heck is going on?
