Re: Google Play on Logitech Revue?

Thanks for the reset help.  After a full factory reset, my Revue booted and was able to update to Play.  Since mine was updated before, I guess it's no surprise that it worked again.  Sorry for all who are still experiencing problems.

Like I posted in another thread Logitech is awaiting my Revue which is failing on the updates to arrive to them. Hopefully they can take an look at mine and see what is causing the issue so they can fix it. I will post more as I get more info. For right now folks the best thing we can do is be patient. Trust me I'm just as frustrated as the rest of you but there is work being done to fix this.

FYI UPS finally updated the tracking on the Revue on its way to Logitech. It won't arrive to them until Tuesday, April 17, 2012 according to the tracking info. Let's hope for the best here folks.

I know what's happening. It's pretty easy to tell if you look at the failed installs on a logcat. The reason that all the Google system apps fail to update is that they weren't signed with the proper key. As I pointed out in an earlier comment. There were two different OTA releases with the same build number. The first one was sent to some units, then replaced by a second zip with "_relapks" at the end. (Release APKs) It is now impossible for us to get the second update on our units as Logitech has removed manual flashing from recovery. And our units won't OTA update to the second version because its the same build number. We're pretty much stuck either waiting for a way to manually flash in recovery (unlikely), or waiting for Logitech to push another OTA update with the correct system APKs (VERY unlikley).

Re: Google Play on Logitech Revue?

Right I've looked at the logcats myself and have seen what's causing the fails. At this point I suspect there will be some kind of OTA push to fix this. I'll let you folks know more as soon as I get the info as I'm working along side Logitech techs on fixing this.

Re: Google Play on Logitech Revue?

All,

Although my Revue finally updated correctly, I now have an "update available" notification almost every time I check it.  When I click the icon, Google Play launches to "My Apps", but no available updates are shown.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Steve

Re: Google Play on Logitech Revue?

I've seen this happen on multiple devices including phones. It usually resolves itself with time and seems to be a delay between update notifications and the actual updates. If it still doesn't show the update after an hour, try to reboot.

First install the android SDK on your computer.

Then use this guide to connect to your Revue.

Once your connected use the logcat command.

Thanks, P1X3L.  So just to be clear, does this require a jailbroken or rooted Revue?

Thanks, P1X3L.  This has been going on for 2-3 weeks on two Revues.  Multiple reboots haven't solved the problem.  Any ideas?
