Google TV-New Update 3.2-Chrome A Lot Faster-Revue Getting It?

[ Edited ]

I have a Sony NSZ-GT1 and it came out with a new update 3.2.

Looks like Chrome Browser is super fast. Tried it and night and day from previous version!

Will Logitech Revue be getting this update?

Makes a huge difference in surfing the internet?

It is fast as my cable speeds-what a difference. Now makes suring or using the internet pleasureable-a viable way to surf!

Great Update!

Hopefully my other TV using the Revue get it!

Does the update correct for the shockwave flash crashes?

If there is nothing there yet, then there is no official word about the update.

I mentioned in another thread that, yes, 3.2 on Sony is faster, but don't get your hopes up too much about 3.2 fixing Shockwave crashes, cause it hasn't for me.

Re: Google TV-New Update 3.2-Chrome A Lot Faster-Revue Getting It?

3.2 is important for a few reasons. One is hardware acceleration, which is probably why the browser is performing much better. Second, for me, is HLS. Plex uses HLS to transcode, which means that media formats that aren't supported by the Revue *cough* DTS *cough* can actually, you know, play on it. This is great, since people who have movies with DTS audio, 90% of new movie files, wouldn't have to convert every single file.

Please. Please. Please. Give us 3.2.

Re: Google TV-New Update 3.2-Chrome A Lot Faster-Revue Getting It?

The shockwave crashes on the revue are mainly due to the hardware, mainly memory, limitations. Not really a problems on most computers, but an issue for smart phones and google tv boxes. Google has been working to educate web developers adding code to their shockwave apps, but it will take some time for most sites to change their code.

If a device such as the Revue were to enable "enhanced HTTP Live Streaming (HLS)" through an udpate - would there be any royalties/licensing fees required for this? This article from Wikipedia mentions that HLS was developed by Apple. I think currently the Revue supports 'limited' HLS. If there are licensing fees required - I would bet that the Revue won't see the update. Logitech already "Cut-Out" MPEG2 support from a Google update for these cost reasons.
