Re: Google confirms Revue getting 3.2?

[ Edited ]

I could understand the initial version and the time it took to get to 3.1. I can't understand the delay of 3.2. It is such a pain dealing with these shockwave flash errors on Netflix, HBOGO, etc. Will the 3.2 update take care of these issues or is this an Adobe flash player problem? If it is, can you address this shockwave error issue? It seems like the Revue is so close to being a great GoogleTV experience if we can get the HLS capability for media servers and correct the video player errors. The Logitech/Google relationship has fallen apart and I do blame Google for not paying attention to the TV product line, but hope that Logitech isn't holding up anything while we are still using their products under warranty. I have three Revue systems and many, many other Logitech/UE products. Please help us understand what is holding up the 3.2 release. Looking at all the forums and news, it appears that Google did release the 3.2 update to Logitech. If not, let us know where we can direct our concerns. Transparency goes a long ways in customer satisfaction. Thank you.

Hello epbiggs,

We definitely understand our customer's anxiety about the update, but sadly we have no more information about the update release. Though once we get an update the community here will be definitely updated with that information.

Hello PVCDroid,

We have not been told what will be fixed with the 3.2 update, but some Sony users have just reported that Chrome is faster though they still receive Flash errors. I just cannot find the thread at this time on here that those users have reported this.

Re: Google confirms Revue getting 3.2?

I appreciate your response, but I am still "anxious" about Logitech's update process.  How is it possible that "sadly, we have no more information about the update release" is your answer.   I would suggest you contact Logitech, but you are Logitech. So how is it possible you don't have information from your own company?  Have you farmed out the update process to a 3rd party?  If so, who is the 3rd party so I can ask them?

I ask that you get your act together, or at least let Google take over the update process for the Revue.  I find that it is unreasonable that you should have no information regarding your own product.  If Logitech has no answer, who would?

Re: Google confirms Revue getting 3.2?

I am not sure where I said "contact Logitech". At one point I may have said contact our Phone support to troubleshoot your setup, but as stated above once we get more information the community will definitely be updated.

Thanks for not answering any of epbiggs questions CatLogitech.   I at times wonder why you even respond to these post you just irritate us users.  How Logitech can state they have no information on what the update will fix or an ETA on the update, or even who is actually doing the update is amazing!   I do love how the moderates always point to Google as the culprit to the problem with their device.

Many Unanswered questions:

1) What is causing the delay with 3.2?  It has been almost 2 months now since the Sony received version 3.2.  Since this is just an incremental update, why is it taking longer then the move to 3.1?

2) What will this help with.  I would assume Logitech is doing some SIT/UAT testing that tells them what is working better and what will not improve.  If your not testing the software, what exactly have you been doing since the beginning of February?

3) ETA?  Seriously, how can this not be known by now.

4) Any chance of unlocking the boot loader so we don't have to bother with these constant delays!??

Thanks!

I agree 100% with the users of the forum. NOT any "Logitech Mod", I mean this is sad... pure [Removed for filter evasion].  I have no market.. while logitech sits down and laughs at the people who bought there products  the users could build there own android os for it.. my phone is a piece of poo and i have LeWa, ICS, and GB builds on it. while it only came with Froyo. Google android was made to be open, not closed. so sad. Buy anything from anyone else but Logitech, theres no LOGIC behind there company..:smileyfrustrated:

Maybe they just jumped to ICS .  you know, jump to the last version available durning the waranty period so you only have to work on one version instead of 2...

Re: Google confirms Revue getting 3.2?

I too am enjoying a whole host of Logitech products (over 20 and counting), but am pretty upset with the level of support for my Revue.  I've asked many times about the update, but as you all know, the Logitech reps are less than helpful in their responses.  And based on some of their answers, they don't even read the question thoroughly.

Now my G5 Logitech mouse on my editing computer (I have several computers/mice) is dying and normally I would just pop for another Logitech, but am now looking to buy another brand out of protest.  Any suggestions on high-quality mice that you folks like that aren't Logitech?

I just can't justify any more Logitech product purchases due to the unbelievable lack of support for the Revue, and the overall attitude of their people. I see they are getting a new President, so maybe he'll whip this company (back?) into shape and I can feel good about Logitech purchases again.  As a loyal customer for many years, I feel like Logitech just doesn't care about my business anymore, so they won't get it!  It's my only way to "vote".

Again, it's not that I don't like my Revue, as I do indeed find it a great little box.  It's just the lackadaisical approach to keeping the Revue up to date and their utter lack of knowledge about upcoming updates that has me irritated.  It's like "CatLogitech" doesn't even work for Logitech, which is perhaps why he/she has no knowledge about the update schedule/process.That's my rant for the week!
