Re: GoogleTV Is A Lemon. We were all ripped off.

Now that falls in Logitech's park and they should get up with the Squeezebox department as they did media right.

I don't quite understand that logic

So you buy a house and there a problem with your couch you call the builder????

If I buy a Dell computer and it doen't do what Dell claimed it would do then, yes, it is Dell's fault.

A better analogy would be buying a GM car that has an engine made by a company in China.  By your logic, we'd have to blame the Chinese company if our new car wouldn't run.

Actually my analogy is exactly spot on

So you buy a Dell computer(Device) and there is a problem with windows(OS) and it is Dell's fault????

So you buy a Logitech Revue(Device) and there is a problem with Froyo(OS) and it is Logitechs Fault

So you buy a Dell computer(Device) and there is a problem with Google chrome(Browser) and it is Dell's fault????

So you buy a Logitech Revue(Device) and there is a problem with Google chrome(Browser) and it is Logitechs Fault

You still don't get it

Again Logitech did not build the OS or the Browser

It's obvious that you're being obtuse on purpose.

Towboy, just let this argument go away, as you are fighting a loosing battle. Otherwise, give me the proper number to call. I bet it will be Logitech customer support number.

Where are the mods to move these types of threads out of the "Revue Product Updates & Release Information" forum?

Re: GoogleTV Is A Lemon. We were all ripped off.

All of you should put this energy into playing with the new Honeycomb leak and complain about the new bugs so we can all get a better official release in September. From what I've seen quite a few people bought it at $99 (while it was still avaialble in stores) and stayed up all night playing with the new features after updating it with Honeycomb. Rumor has it that at least half the apps from the Market run on this "buggy" version.

Re: GoogleTV Is A Lemon. We were all ripped off.

I tend to agree with "GTVIsALemon" on a few points.

1. The Revue (with GTV) and all its "functionality"  was way oversold

2. It was released before the due diligence was done

3. I do feel ripped off (Dish charges a monthly fee to connect it to the PVR, Logitech Charges about $200 less than I paid, I can't see anything that has really "improved" since I bought it & it's overall performance has been pretty poor)

4. Logitech (which has products that I like) in my opinion, has done an incredibly poor job of communicating, setting expectations and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.

On the counterpoint, Logitech can't control GTV and as such is limited by their direction. Seems that the leadership of Logitech in an effort to find a "killer" product (and thus growing sales and profits) didn't do their job.

I spent about $300 bucks on a device that I use for Netflix on my big screen and occasionally Pandora or media streaming. The small level of interactivity with my PVR wasn't worth the $4 a month Dish charges (which they never disclosed) I can see the potential for this device but point in fact ... I don't see it doing anything now that I couldn’t do the day I bought it. I have heard "this and that is coming" and have yet to see it. I can only hope that I didn’t waste my cash. Can anyone tell me what more they use this device for because I just don't see the value.

Fortunately  $300 isn't the end of the world and I can buy Sony, Samsung or many other brands that seem to care about the customers experience a bit more than Logitech. I hope they prove me wrong. For now I will live with it.

Re: GoogleTV Is A Lemon. We were all ripped off.

It's amazing how much price impacts the discussion.  At 100 bucks, it's a veritable bargain for google music, pandora, netflix, amazon, espn3, youtube, etc AND a pretty easy to use web browser.  Plus, we got a sweet keyboard remote.  At 300 bucks, I can see the frustration.  I'm actually pretty keen to see honeycomb because I am finally starting to love my Xoom with OS 3.2.

I will agree though, the LMP is a disaster.  Why don't they just let us install Android's default media player and a third-party DLNA app? Or Sonos?
