Harmonys and the Revue

Omar while you are monitoring.  Am I correct about the Revue being able to be controlled by any Harmony remote.  The Harmony database appears to have a full set of commands for it.

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

Hi Towboy,

You are correct. You will be able to add Revue to your Harmony Remote and create a Watch Google TV activity. The Harmony remote will send IR commands to Revue that are interpreted as a set of instructions. Revue will then send IR commands to control the TV, AVR, STB.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Omar

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

Really so this is going to Power on the Revue then the Revue will do the rest.

Will all of this still be tracked by the SST of the Harmony remote?

Do the commands that I see in Database further what the Keyboard can do?

It seems there are more commands than are found on the Keyboard itself?

Are the Mini Blasters the same as the 900s Mini Blasters?

With the learning function and some ingenuity could one use the Keyboard to control say a BluRay Player?

Does the Revue use the Color commands for the 922 and if so and they work can they be moved to the Harmony database?

Do the commands that I see in Database further what the Keyboard can do? The remote will do what you can do on the keyboard.

It seems there are more commands than are found on the Keyboard itself? There are some added commands that are direct commands to launch an app.

Are the Mini Blasters the same as the 900s Mini Blasters? Yes.

With the learning function and some ingenuity could one use the Keyboard to control say a BluRay Player? Yes.

Does the Revue use the Color commands for the 922 and if so and they work can they be moved to the Harmony database? Revue leverages the Harmony database. What you have on the Harmony Remote will appear on Revue.

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

The last answer seems like a good political answer:smileyhappy:.

Can the Revue send the Yellow and Blue IR commands to the 922?

If so do the Yellow and Blue IR commands work?

If both answers are yes can those working commands be transferred to the Harmony database?

The Yellow and Blue commands in the database and the extra commands you added to my account that I tried still do not work.

How would one send a sound field command for an AVR from the Revue Keyboard?

When using the Revue as a WIFI Extender can a Ethernet Hub be attached so that Ethernet can be sent to multiple Devices like the Squeezebox's can do?

Can The DLNA software read from a DLNA enabled EHD?

Do you know if there is any plan to create an app that will be able to read from Squeeze Server?

Also so that you could sync the Revue and any Squeezebox around the house?

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

Can the Revue be added to a current Watch TV Activity or will a whole new Activity need o be setup?

Will there be a New subset in the Harmony software for a Watch Google TV Activity?

Does the Revue send out IR or is it only through the IR Blasters?

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

Hi Towboy,

You can use the existing Watch TV Activity, but I would recommend creating a new one, otherwise you will need to customize the buttons in the existing Activity to control Revue. Here are the steps on how to setup the Harmony remote to control Revue:

Add the Logitech Revue to your Harmony account.

1. In the Device Type list, select Video Recorder > PVR.
2. In the Manufacturer list, select Logitech.
3. In the Model field, type Revue.

To set up your Logitech Revue in a Watch TV Activity, log in to your Logitech Harmony Remote Software
account and complete the following steps:

1. Click the Activities tab.
2. Click Add Activity.
3. You are asked “Would you like to automatically add Activities that use your devices?” Select
Yes – automatically add Activities that use my devices and click Next.
4. Select Watch TV and click Next
5. Select the device do you use to control the volume and click Next.
6. If you are asked which device changes channels, select Logitech Revue and click Next.
7. You are asked to select the inputs used for the devices. Answer the questions and click Next.
8. You are asked to “Review the settings for this Activity”. Select Yes, but I want to add more
control of options and devices for this Activity and click Next.
9. Under “Devices Not In Use”, click Add beside your cable/satellite receiver.
10. Click Save.
11. You are asked to select the inputs used for the devices. Answer the questions and click Next.
12. Under “Please review the actions for your Watch TV Activity”, click Save.
13. Under “Review settings for this Activity” select Yes, these setting are correct and click Next.
14. Click Done.
15. Click Update Remote.
16. Ensure your Harmony remote is connected to your computer using the USB cable. Click Next.
17. A page appears showing the progress as your Harmony remote is updated with your device
information. The update process could take a few minutes as your Harmony remote is updated
with your account information. During the update, do not unplug your Harmony remote unless
prompted to do so.
18. Click Next.
19. Unplug your remote and test it.

On MyHarmony you it will create a "Watch Google TV" Activity. On the Remote Control Software, it will create a "Watch TV" Activity, which you can then rename to "Watch Google TV" if you would like.

The Revue box has 1 IR receiver behind front panel for IR learning and receiving IR signals from a Harmony Remote. It also has 4 IR transmitters behind front panel where 2 are at the center and 1 at the left corner, 1 at the right corner. Therefore you don't need to use the IR blasters if your devices are within line of sight.

Regards,

Omar

Re: Harmonys and the Revue

I see it easier to add the Revue commands to my current Activity rather than re doing all of my favorite channles.

How would one send a sound field command for an AVR from the Revue Keyboard?

How would one send a sound field command for an AVR from the Revue Keyboard? You could customize a button on the Keyboard Controller to send the command to your AVR.

When using the Revue as a WIFI Extender can a Ethernet Hub be attached so that Ethernet can be sent to multiple Devices like the Squeezebox's can do? The only bridging capabilities available on Revue are for connecting a Dish Network receiver (ViP 622, 722 and 722K). You would connect Revue using Wi-Fi and then use a Ethernet cable to connect Revue to the Dish Network Receiver.

Can The DLNA software read from a DLNA enabled EHD? Are you referring to an External Hard Drive connected to Revue through USB or a NAS?

Do you know if there is any plan to create an app that will be able to read from Squeeze Server? I cannot comment but as you know Android is open source making it available for anyone to develop apps.

Also so that you could sync the Revue and any Squeezebox around the house? No.
