Re: Has your Logitech Revue been updated?

[ Edited ]

As posted before we have not been given a date when the update will be released. The most up to date official information is at http://blog.logitech.com

If you are in the USA your Revue will get the update whether or not it is in the warranty period of your box as said by the post on our online blog.

"...And all owners of Logitech Revue will receive the automatic and free update of Google’s recently announced updated version of Google TV, which we expect to roll out before the end of the year."

As I have also said as the Revue is only supported in the USA, so we cannot guarantee that boxes outside of the USA will be updated.

If I get any further information I shall update everyone or an official post will be made or the online blog will be update.

"It is important to note that Logitech remains committed to all of its Logitech Revue customers and will continue to provide them with customer support under our warranty policy. We will also continue to support the Media Player, TV Cam, Keyboard Controller and Mini Keyboard."

Re: Has your Logitech Revue been updated?

@CatLogitech: Does the "....we expect to roll out before the end of the year." means its this year or any year?

What kind of a C level executives make these ambiguous statements...

We need to know what are the issues that are stopping logitech from releasing this update now??? why are they doing this communist thing in giving an open source update...

Are you guys really think in terms of Google: A Beta Software is not BAD!!!, it just gives the company an opportunity to test in real customer environment, than a bunch of testers test it in closed rooms with no exposure to how and what customers use it.

Will logitech even get to this mind-set???

I'M NEVER GOING TO BUY ANOTHER LOGITECH PRODUCT ... <PERIOD>

Jezzzooooo!

"I'M NEVER GOING TO BUY ANOTHER LOGITECH PRODUCT ... <PERIOD>" = good job:smileysad:

Fact is, I'm more upset the device has been abandoned. I think it's a great PNP that, even at the original $300 tag, is still better than the cost of a good HTPC - - - - - -

The update will come...............

The irony of your statement is that open-source IS a kind of communism.  It is a common, cooperative pursuit of a goal which provides an improvement to the common good without the inclusion of a trade of benefits for services.

Re: Has your Logitech Revue been updated?

Logitec Gentlemen,

This is a shame! We can not have trust in the words light and without obligation.

It is assumed, bought a last generation product and technology, but you are killing.

I live in Chile and I felt proud to have this device. Certainly I am wrong.

Those who read this forum, please ... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

Re: Has your Logitech Revue been updated?

I should have just bought a Microsoft Webtv in the 90's. It does almost as much as my revue does, I could have saved myself $250, I would have had it a decade sooner and it will probably still see a honeycomb update before the revue.

What is really funny is they are totally backwards. The revue would be a success if they opened up the app market but they are giving up on it before they give it a chance to have any functionality.

Logictech, stick with trying to reinvent the keyboard and leave the real product development to companies that can actually meet a deadline and communicate to its customers.

Re: Has your Logitech Revue been updated?

I am convinced logitech made a(nother) mistake in leaving the GTV playfield. However, I dont care for a 99 bucks device being out of date. Other companies will be happy to sell me another, up to date device.

But definitely I will remember my experiences next time I read the logitech brand name on any box on a shelf I am searching a product in and I will not get tired of telling others about my experience with this brand.

Apropos reinventing the keyboard: are you sure they do? Isn't it they buy complete products from some chinese manufacturers and just let they do a labeling with the logitech brand?

What!!! You do know that this doesn't mean anything to anyone in this forum anymore don't you.
