Revue and Accessories

I see an option on the menu to manage paired phones. How do I pair a phone and why would I pair a phone with my Revue?  Thanks for your help and time.

Hello Apota,

There is a free app on the Android and IOS app store available to US residents called the Logitech Harmony app that can be used to control your Revue: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/smarttv/accessories/devices/7544

To setup Logitech Harmony on your Android, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to control Revue, do the following:

1. Before launching the Harmony app:
   • Ensure you have downloaded and installed the Harmony app onto your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
   • Ensure your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Revue.
   • Ensure your TV and Revue are on.
2. Locate and launch the Harmony app on your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
3. When the Harmony app launches, select the Logitech Revue that you would like to connect to. If you have multiple Revue's on the same network, they will all be listed.
4. Your TV will now display a 4 digit code which you must enter into your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
5. Once you have entered in the code, your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad will be connected to your Revue. You may then be prompted to answer additional questions to complete the setup.
6. The last step is to turn off all of your devices. If any of them are off you can turn them off by pressing Off next to the device.

You will now be able to control Revue using your Android, iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Let me know if you have any issues with that or require further assistance.

I already tired that and it says that application isn't compatible with my Android phone.  I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android v4.0.  It's the first device to run the latest version of Android.  I'm finding lots of apps weren't compatible at first but they they are coming out with updated versions that are compatible with the new Android v4.0 OS.  Do you know when your software will be compabile with the latest Android OS and run on my new phone?  Thanks for your help and time!

Hello Apota,

Currently I am unaware of any updates for the Logitech Harmony App, if the market is saying its not supported there are other ways (that we do not support) that you can use to install the App if you can get the .apk file. I'm sure with Google or some searching on the forum you could dig up some directions. (If you do choose to retrieve the app elsewhere there's no guarantee it will work or work correctly but you can try).

So, according to this it won't run on my Toshiba Tablet either because it runs Android 3.0 and my phone runs Android 4.0.  I guess I'll have to do what you say and try to find another version of the software.  It actually does download and isntall on my phone but when I try to run it I get an error messages saying it's not supported for this device.

 What type of Android Phone do you have? What is the OS version of your Phone? When you do perform a search for Logitech Harmony, are you able to find the app on the Android Market?

If you look at one of my previous posts it gives you all that information on my phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.0.  The link you gave me I've already seen and it's useless.  Logitech doesn't seem to know what they are talking about. I contacted their Technical Support via email and they said it won't run on my phone because the screen is too big and not supported, but in the Android Market place it says it's because Android 4.0 isn't supported.  So, I don't know. Either way I guess it's not compatible at this point and time. It would be nice to know if it will be compatible in the future or not. Logitech knew Android 4.0 devices where coming out in the future, so why can't they do what other vendors do and do updates for their software to make it compatible with up and coming OS versions.  Thanks a lot Logitech!

I tell you, those of us who've been invested in this Revue for a while...granted, I only have two devices....are getting the banana BIG time.  I'd like to know SOMETHING to tell me where Logitech is going in this arena...not necessarily with these machines, but are they doing anything similar to the Revue now that they've abandoned the Revue.  The idea was fantastic and it was going in the right direction but they needed to do some more work before they released these beast.  Such a shame.  

If they aren't going to do anything similar, I may go ahead and brick one of these two to see if I can make some improvements of my own.  It really **bleep** constantly seeing "Your Device is not Supported" anytime I go to a website to watch a TV show or video clip....painful how often that happens.  Help us Logitech...help us.

You know the saddest part is (I know I'm a bit late) is that there is now 4.x sent out as a huge push that EVERYONE now has, or at a MINIMUM 3.x, but Logitech Harmony for Revue is only supporting 1.x and 2.x android phone and tablet devices.  That is uncalled for.  I might just return my revue device.  It's a real shame cause I love it, but this is unacceptable.  I could spend so much less on the Roku, but wanted this because of the Android market capabilities... I'm really starting to regret this decision, however.  In addition to no power off button (what a waste of electricity) and only HDMI-in for cable (what about coaxial in??), the features this device should have are far from available, and I've heard nothing over the past few years of Logitech updating this project.  All in all they need to stop selling this product unless they're planning on taking their heads out of their asses and do something about it... it's sickening.  I love you logitech, but get real.
