Re: Live TV quality loss

You can put me in the poor video quality camp.........

This ain't gonna work. I hope there's a quick update to the update.

Everything else is great!

BTW, if anyone at Logitech is interested, I'm using a DirecTV HR23 --> Anthem AVM50 --> Pioneer Elite 50".

Re: Live TV quality loss -- Can we downgrade back to 2.1?

Same problem with poor picture quality. DISH was on TNT when I went to GTV, and "it" happened after I did some kind of reboot in settings about allowing crash reports to go auto. This screen is clear but I hesitate to return to TV. Anyone paying attetntion out there?

I think this is a major bug that needs to be looked at.  How do we log this issue so that someone at Logitech is looking into it?

Call Logitech Technical Support, their phone number is in GTV Settings > About > Technical Support which should be 866-954-5644

Re: Live TV quality loss -- Can we downgrade back to 2.1?

Hi Peter:

Can you team use the following sites to fix the picture/sound bumping problem?

 http://www.98478.com/tv.asp?action=play&id=1799

http://www.fm900.com/TV/HDTV/ (javascript:play('beijing_1');

Both sites provide live broadcast from Beijing TV Station. The picture and sound bump in evey 3-4 seconds. I compared Revue with three of my desktop and notebook PCs for these two sites. Only Revue had this problem.

Best

Felix

[ Edited ]

I also see a drop in TV picture quality, almost as if frames are being dropped (this has been discussed thoroughly in detail in previous posts).

It is especially obvious when watching cartoons.  In 2.1 I never got a blur in my picture (lucked out on a nice TV that didn't have that problem).  However now it is very noticeable.  It isn't a constant issue but every once in a while (a few times a minute) this happens.  Still love my Revue and I look forward to a future patch for this.

Re: Live TV quality loss -- Can we downgrade back to 2.1?

Hi, I also notice a drop in picture quality when watching stream video from these sites:

http://www.mercedes-benz.tv

http://tv.audi.com/

Previously on 2.1, the HD video quality in full screen are smooth like having hardware acceleration on PC.

But after 3.1, the video are pixelated, especially if it takes buffer time to load on slow connections.

I also noticed a drop in sharpness on my tv.

Directv HR24-200(1080i)-->Revue(1080i)--->Samsung Slimfit HDTV(1080i)

Really hoping on a revert. Like original poster said, it really doesn't have anything worth it.

Re: Live TV quality loss -- Can we downgrade back to 2.1?

I've noticed a quality issue as well.  Along the very bottom of my screen, I get erratic, unpredictable flashing for about the bottom 10 pixels along my TV.  I've tried expanding the area in the GTV setup but it persists no matter how low I set the margin.

Re: Live TV quality loss -- Can we downgrade back to 2.1?

I own a Pioneer PDP5010FD plasma tv.

3.1 vs 2.1 results:

1. There is a lowering of resolution.

2. There is clipping in both the higlights and the shadows.

3. The color is a little over satuated.

These results are both for the STB and Netflix.

There is some sort of video processing that is different from 2.1 to 3.1.

I hope this can be corrected in a future update.
