I have a MacBook Pro to which is attached an external 1.5TB HD containing movies, TV program & music. I am running a media server - currently MediaLink but I've tried both OSX options recommended by Logitech and have the same problem with all of them. Via Logitech Media Player I can navigate around my media folders and play it all successfully, but what I cannot do is use the search facility to find my media. I have the Logitech Media Player option ticked under Searchable Items under settings. All my tags etc. are fine (I have everything running fine in iTunes etc.). I have rebooted everything, texted with Logitech support, spoken with Logitech by telephone but so far I still have no results when using Search . The bottom line is if I search for content I know is in my media whilst in Logitech Media Player I get "No Results Found" if I search elsewhere I get results from the web, You Tube, Wikipedia etc. but nothing from my media - it briefly shows "more results" and I see the spinning dots, but then that disappears and leaves only the web/You Tube results.
Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated as this is the main reason I bought the Revue, I have an awful lot of media and using a simple search to find things is so much easier than drilling down through folders!

Ditto. Would love to have the search be able to search my UPNP server for results. Honestly, without this feature I am a bit disappointed as I don't have Satellite or Cable and am using it as a centralized media server... which it is pretty impressive for; but this feature would put it over the top.

This really does sound like a bug, as the media player is listed as an available source under search settings. And this is a google device after all, are we not to expect universal search?
Look at the note on this troubleshooting topic.

Let's hope this is a temporary situtation and will be rectified with a future software update. As a large portion of my content will also be served via DLNA.

Regarding the note on the Troubleshooting topic......
I forgot to mention in my original post, although most of my video media is on the external HD some is on my MacBook's HD, as are all my mp3's. These still don't turn up in any search results. So the problem I've got certainly isn't anything to do with the media being on an external drive.
To test things further I also added a much smaller external USB HD (160gb), formatted in FAT32, with a few media files on it. I then added that to the media server. Again, I could navigate it via the folders, but still nothing in search results. I did that as I wanted to make sure my problem had nothing to do with the formatting or the size of the external volume.

Right, the note above is referring to an external hard drive or USB key attached directly to the Revue. So it looks like the bug/limitation applies globally to the logitech media player, no search results are included for either USB or network device sources.

So let me get this straight, is my problem unique('ish) to me, or is this a Mac/Revue problem? Is anyone else with a Mac/Revue setup having this same problem?

I can confirm this problem exists on a PC-based DLNA client also. I get no search results from any Networked Sources in the Logitech Media Player. I have confirmed that the source is checked under Options -> Settings -> Sources. The text of this setting reads "Search results will include content from checked sources". And i get no results when i search from either the top level or within any of the folders. This is a bug with the Logitech Media Player.

I'm having the same problem with my dlna content on a windows home server. Both twonky and windows media dlna content is navigable and playable using the logitech media player, but most of the time no results show up in search. When they do, it is always only three files of the many that should match the search.
