No audio from live cable TV - Help!

Hello everyone,

I just set up my Logitech Revue with my Samsung HDTV and Comcast Explorer 8300HDC DVR. Everything has been working great so far, except for the sound from the live TV. There isn't any! However, every other sound works fine (podcasts, youtube, netflix, pandora, and revue button sounds).

Therefore, I don't think that it is a problem with my physical setup (cables, etc). Can anyone think of what the problem may be?

Thanks!

Hi,

In the menu settings for your comcast 8300 HD DVR ensure that the digital out setting is set to HDMI.

Regards,

Omar

Re: No audio from live cable TV - Help!

Same issue with my SA 4200HD from Cablevision. No sound from my live tv. I went into settings and the only choice was Dolby Digital or other within the Digital Out. Anywhere else I will find a way to change to HDMI?

i have the same problem, audio works fine when STB is connected to TV (via HDMI), but no audio when STB is connected thru Revue, even though all other audio from Revue comes thru

On the original SA remote hit the settings button twice to get to the menu described above

Same problem here. No sound through Revue using Pace DCR 7111 set top box.

I could use some advice... Thanks in advance, best,

Hi Centrical,

How do you have the Pace DCR7111 connected to Revue? What other devices are you using in your setup?

I'm not familiar with the Pace DCR7111's setup menu, but is there any setting that would allow audio through HDMI? (In the event that you were using other audio connections with the STB before setting up Revue.)

Regards,

Mark

Re: No audio from live cable TV - Help!

I connected everything like one should I suppose:

Pace HDMI ouput -> HDMI input on the Revue -> beovision 8-32 through HDMI

The audio of the Pace works fine with a direct HDMI connection to the TV (so, without the Revue in between), so I don't know why the Revue doesn't pick up the sound. The settings of the Pace do not allow to set the sound as far as I can tell (and it works through HDMI without the Revue).

I'd be really happy if I could fix it, especially since my TV only has one HDMI input.

Re: No audio from live cable TV - Help!

Just set up my Revue and am experiencing the same issues... I had my cable box plugged directly into my TV and now per the instructions I have the Revue in-line between the cable box and my TV with no audio output from live TV. I have search on these forums and online with no real answer found. It would appear it is a fairly common issue, yet Logitech has not addressed the issue anywhere unless I have missed it.

My set-up is as follows. PACE DC700X HD -> Revue - LG 42LBX

Any further assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.
