Re: Server is unavailable...?

I will try it tonight. Is there a new fix release today for the authentication error (not able to pass Step 7)? Please let me know because I'm in the deadline to return the units.

Re: Server is unavailable...?

Given the frustration to many customers caused by this it might be good customer service to offer some explanation as to what caused teh problem

Re: Server is unavailable...?

I'm in the deep crunch spending on these two logitech revues with this hard earning money and not thoughtfully hope with logitech revue to bring all relatives (kids) together to see each other's face. It just broke everyon'e heart and kept me away from watching kids to troubleshoot these devices. It's such a nightmare. Better work rite?

Re: Server is unavailable...?

I'm sorry to hear you guys are stuck on that step 7. I was also stuck in step 5 during the upgrade, then step 7 after the replacement. From my experience with all this, I would advise you to return it back to where you purchased it for a replacement if you still can or contact Logitech and have them sent you a replacement. I'm going to tell you not that it's a slow process as they require you to return your unit first before they'll ship one out to you. You can expect a 2 to 3 week turn around time even after they promise you that they will ship the new one 2 day air. As I said, I speak from my experiences with Logitech. On the first unit, they could not get me past step 5 so they replaced it. It took 12 days for me to receive the replacement unit. The day I received it, I ran set up and it got stuck on step 7 this time. After waiting over 2 hours for support (and yes, the calls do hang up after 45 mins without speaking to you) they offered to replace the replacement unit and even offered to ship the replacement 2nd day air. It took 18 days before I received it. So after 2 months of dealing with Logitech, the replacements finally worked and I'm good. There was no explanation given and I don't expect much more from Logitech. I own 2 of these and I'm hoping I would not have any more issues with these. If I do, I will trash them instead of dealing with it again. Good luck with your units.

Re: Server is unavailable...?

I haven't checked if it has gotten any new upgrades since early January. I'm almost afraid of any upgrades. I will check tonight what versions are on them and post it later on.

Re: Server is unavailable...?

They better fix it because I already told the store that I bought from. both units that I got from these stores have authentication error (not pass step 7). The store has at least 50 of them in stock. In couple days after I return, for sure Logitech will hear from them.

If anyone resolves this issue, please give every one confident that the problem has been fixed or not please?

Hello CanogoPark,

The issue should have cleared up. If you are having issues it is best to contact the Revue support team so that can troubleshoot your setup more quickly and make a determination for you whether or not it needs to be replaced.

Re: Server is unavailable...?

I got my update to v3.1 recently. However, now my keyboard can't control the power/volume setting of my TV (Samsung) and Tivo anymore. It still listed my TV and Tivo in the system "setting" correctly, but pressing power/volume buttons on the keyboard has no effect on those boxes now. Note that those buttons worked before.

I googled forums around and followed suggestions to delete those devices from my "settings", hoping that this would start config procedure anew and re-init the keyboard so it can send the correct control signals to these devices.

But I got the "Service is unavailable" message when I tried to remove either of these devices from my "settings".

My Revue is connected to TV and Tivo via a switch, i.e. hardwired. I am not using WiFi. I think I can get better throughput by going hardwire.

As stated above, I have turned off WiFi on my Revue.

My understanding is that the Revue keyboard uses RF to control its own box. What kind of signal does it use to control other devices? IR? I thought these days the remote works through network, right?

The new v3.1 Honeycomb update is pretty good. I just need to get this remote thing work again.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion and feedback.
