Stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV

Stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV

Hi,

My Revue stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV. It worked for a month and now is displaying a blank screen on my Sony and Toshiba TV, but still working on Samsung TV. This what I did so far.

1. I reset unit multiple times (it has latest Android 3.1 revision)

2. Turn on and off TVs and Revue multiple times (power off for 10 min etc)

3. All HDMI ports on TV is working fine when I connect laptop

What else I can try?

Thanks.

Re: Stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV

I actually had this happen to me over the weekend.  My revue is pretty much a door stop now.  I could still here audio being passed, but a constant blank screen.  I think I give up fighting this junk.  I got a roku and installed plex beta channel and can stream 1080p h264 content to it.  I still had no solution for google tv.

Do you know if Logitech would cover this under warranty?

Hello Ark3 and dillzz66,

Usually when the Revue does not work with a certain TV like this is either the TV's HDMI ports are the older type and not supported or it is a bad HDMI cable.

@Ark3: since your Revue works with one TV and not the others it is probably the type of HDMI ports on those TVs or the TV settings or a HDCP issue with another device that is plugged into the Revue or TV through HDMI. Try having only the Revue plugged into these TV directly with an HDMI cable and nothing else in the TV. See if this works.

@dillzz66: your issue sounds like it could be a HDCP issue or a bad HDMI cable. Are you using a Audio receiver for your setup? Try what I suggested to Ark3 of a different HDMI cable and plugging the Revue directly into the TV and see if it works then.

Re: Stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV

Thank you for reply:

I want to repeat what I already posted:

1. My Revue DID work fine with all 3 TVs for a month and just stopped working last week.

2. HDMI ports on TV is working fine with computer.

3. Revue plugged directly to TV.

What else I can try? Can I change HID setting or output level on Revue, or else.

Thanks

Hello Ark3,

There is no setting on the Revue to change. Are you using the same HDMI cable on all the TVs? How old are the 2 TVs that are not working anymore? What happens when it does not work? Do you hear sound, but no picture?

It is very odd that it would be the Revue because it still works fine with one TV. The Revue cannot pick and choose what TV it works with. All it knows is the type of HDMI ports it is compatable with and what it is not and what HDMI cables it works with. Also how many other devices are also plugged into the TV with an HDMI cable. The Revue does not have any restrictions for HDCP, but other products attached to those TVs might. Even though it worked for a bit with those devices all attached they may not have confirmed their HDCP connection and then when they did verify their connection later on they saw that thay could not support all those devices through HDMI connections and so it would not work.

One thing to try would be to disconnect everything in one of those TVs that use HDMI cables. Then unplug the TV and have the Revue unplugged from power. Next plug in the Revue to the TV and power on the TV. Once the TV is warmed up plug in the Revue and see if it works. Make sure you are using the same HDMI cable that you used with the TV that it works with.

Re: Stopped working with 2 of my 3 TV

Hello Ark3,

What was the result of the experiment that was requested by CatLogitech?  I would also try a different HDMI input on the TV just to see if the Revue is not communicating with the Television.

Not sure if this was suggested or not, but you can also attempt to go to Settings>TV and AV Receiver and attempt to remove and re-add the Television. Once you remove the TV, reboot the revue and when the Revue is up and running, go back and add the Television.

If there is a problem and you are having difficulties, you can always contact the support and they would be more than happy to help you out the warranty if they are not able to assist you.

Try the steps and let us know and if we can help you resolve it, more the better and less stress having to deal with support.

Take Care
