It stinks it's not limited to the one box. I'd like other to chime in.

I'm going to make a new topic since I'm not OP and I want to be the squeakiest wheel.

Re: Uverse box randomly reboots when Revue is connected

I just got mine setup today and having the same problem. I have the Cisco IPN4320. It always occurs when the TV is off. This is not good. I'll be trying to call Logitech tomorrow to see what they say.

Re: Uverse box randomly reboots when Revue is connected

Installed the Revue yesterday and already having issues with this. I have a 1225 box with BT AT&T Remote. When I shut the system off (I believe it goes into standby) and back on, I get an HDMI error flash on the screen for about 2 seconds followed by a crash and complete reboot of the AT&T box. At this point I have to wait 3-5 minutes for the system to come back up.

Yep. That's the one. When I complained of this, they sent me a refurbished Revue that had a label underneath that said 'HDMI undershoot refurbished' or something like that. It didn't help me, but maybe it will help you.

At least it is still ONE channel line provider, as this doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone else other than AT&T U-verse customers.

Re: Uverse box randomly reboots when Revue is connected

ok, i noticed last night that my green light around the power button on the vip-1216 was blinking...

when i powered on the tv, the screen was flickering.  but it stopped after i changed channels.

i have always had the HDCP error with my box, even before the revue.  this is not a revue problem, this is definitely the STB.  i used to get it when i switched inputs on my hdmi switch from 1 device to the STB.

the box boots up when i power on the tv.  not really a big deal with me since i don't watch tv that much

Re: Uverse box randomly reboots when Revue is connected

I just had this happen last night, though the STB did not reboot - just got a black TV screen until I did flip on the revue and then use it to go back to the TV.

Re: Uverse box randomly reboots when Revue is connected

I called tech support about this issue and was called back by level 2 support. They are aware of this issue and are looking for a solution. The woman I talked to was not sure if it would be a firmware update, or something else. Let's hope firmware will do it, since the alternative means sending the Revue back to them.

Logitech replaced my Revue with a refurbished unit because of this issue. Not once did they point the finger at AT&T.

The replacement did the same thing, deep sleep disabling the U-verse box (VIP1225) causing reboot/reset upon awakening and dropped recordings. I messaged Logitech and they said they know about the problem and that they have an engineering department trying to fix it, but they do not know when (if?) it will be fixed.

I wonder how many more people are having this problem as they scoop up the Revue at 99 dollars.

I also wonder if it's a problem exclusive to the VIP1225. If it were, I'm sure I could get different equipment from AT&T.

Anyone?

I got home last night and my TV had a red x in the center, is this what you get when it reboots, everthing else I read indicates the red x is a pending drive failure. I did disconnect the revue and reset the the DVR and it came back up but it took 10 minutes or so. If this is not waht your reboot looks like I will connect the revue back up tonight.

I never saw the red x. In my situation, when the system had been resting, I would wake it and if the U-verse box was the selected input, I would see the 'rethink possible' screen followed by some sort of reboot/reset of the U'verse box. The Revue remained functional throughout. After a few moments, sometimes a long moment, the U-verse box would be funtional, but often recordings had been missed or broken.

Some have suggested this is a U-verse problem, but the U-verse system works perfectly without the Revue in the chain. While it's unfortunate that there is likely something in the U-verse configuration that is throwing the Revue for a loop, Logitech must fix this. They are selling more units at the reduced price and more U-verse subscribers are experiencing this problem. I dumped my Boxee build for the integration that the Revue was supposed to offer.
