Video freezing from Twonky dlna server

Hi,

I'm trying to stream HD content from a Macbook Pro, 2.6 w/ 8 gigs ram. Video plays back flawlessly on teh Mac, but when I try to play it with the Media Player app I get occasional pauses and freezes, sometimes lasting over a minute.

Laptop is doing nothing except running Twonky. I'm using a Linksys N router, the only connections on the wireless network are me and it. Netflix streams fine. I've tried 1080p and 720p files, both behave the same. Container is mkv.

Thanks!

Re: Video freezing from Twonky dlna server

The same problem occurs on my Revue when accessing .AVI files from my Twonky server. It seems that .MKV files will play without interruption (although most lack audio because of missing DTS codec and terrible Logitech codec support.) AVI files play for about 10-20 seconds and then stop dead.

Re: Video freezing from Twonky dlna server

I'm having a similar problem with the Logitech Media Player app. When I access a portable hard drive I connect through USB and play an .AVI file it freezes exactly every time the video has a pure black screen. So anytime a video fades to black it freezes. This can be reproduced every time on any video that has a full black screen.

Hopefully this can resolved in the next update?

Re: Video freezing from Twonky dlna server

I am having the same issue. I have tried and I have tried numerous DLNA servers. Sometimes the video plays fine for 5 minutes straight and then it will freeze up or pause every 10 seconds or so. I was starting to think that maybe it was just my Macbook that was having the problem but then I saw this post.

Anyone find a solution yet? This is extremely annoying.

Null River's Medialink has worked the best for me.  But it is still not great.
