"Too large storage to run disk checking..."

Okay folks, I'm at the end of my rope. This Revue thingie's giving me only troubles. Got an NTFS-formatted 1T hard drive, but Revue refuses to see/mount it. Claims (see subject line) it's too big to run disk checking. What up with that? I never told it to run disk checking in the first place... Anyone?

Hello Aqualung,

The Revue will support up to 1TB EX Hard Drives, have you tried unplugging the HD, rebooting the Revue and reconnecting the HD?

Cheers,

I've tried all sorts of combinations (though not sure if precisely the above scenario that you're describing), to no avail. I will give your algorithm a shot later today, and report back. One thing I can say is that I have another hard drive of the very same model, that gives me no issues (go figure!). Both hard drives are accessible just fine in Windows, so I'm pretty sure they are healthy. They are both pretty new, top notch WD hard drives.

What is the model of the HDD? How full is this HDD compared to the one that works? Did you try the same USB cable as the other HDD that works?

Alright, I tried all possible scenarios. Not working. HDD is WD1001FALS. Please advise.

Model: WD1001FALS. As for how full it is, it's certainly fuller than the one that works, though nothing out of the ordinary (see attached screenshot). I tried all sorts of USB cables, makes no difference.

Try removing some files so that it is the same size as the other one and see if it works then.

Thanks for the reply. As you can imagine, it's not so easy to move back and forth 100-200 Gs, so I am understandably wary of attempting this. Nevertheless, I'll see if I can give it a try one of these days. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to hear back from some of the support specialists with suggestions.

Cheers.
