"cannot play video"

First, I apologize if this is a duplicate of something posted elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere in the forum.  I just got my Revue and set up the Logitech Media Server on my PC.  The Media Player does see the server, and I can see all of my movies.  However, every single one of them comes up with an message "cannot play video" and I have no idea of what I'm doing wrong that it will see the movies but not play any of them - not even one.

Please help!

It could be either the movie itself is incompatible or the streaming server is transcoding them into an incompatible format.  You might want to test a few files locally on the Revue with a USB drive.  This will help you eliminate the question of whether it is a server or file problem.

If it is a file problem, you might try using MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en) to check the container format and stream types of the movies which you're trying to play.  You can check them against the list in this link (http://revue.logitech.com/digitalhome/answers?a_id=26844) to determine compatibility. If you're inable to comprehend the information then paste the results of one of your unplayable movie here.  We should be able to help you determine the nature of the file's incompatibility.

Try as different video player from the Market, I use GTV Video Player, it plays all video files I have tried.

I'm having the same problem!  I did try accessing the same files from  a USB drive, and they played just fine, so it's not the files....

I'd appreciate any other ideas to try.

Re: "cannot play video"

My Revue started having this problem after streaming just fine for several days.  Rebooted the Revue.  No change.  Rebooted the server (my Galaxy SIII).  No change.  Last thing in the system was my router.  Rebooted that. Voila! Success.
