Official - Flash sites/channels/apps having trouble after Android 3.1 update

[ Edited ]

I am collecting a list of sites/apps/channels to share with my coworkers at Logitech and also with Google where Flash videos used to work fine with the previous 2.1 version but now there are serious problem with 3.1 - e.g crash or it just won't play.

Please reboot the Revue (NOT a factory reset) first and then try to reproduce the Flash problem as the first thing you.  We want to minimize the number of other processes running.  If taht doesn't cause the problem then run apps as normal

1) URL of the site, Spotlight Channel or name of App

2) The nature of the problem - e.g crash, choppy video, nothing happens

3) How reproducible is the problem for you?  Do you need other user apps to be running for Flash to have trouble - which ones were running?

4) If choppy videos, are you wired or wireless?

5) Can we PM you through the Forums if we need more info?

So far I have seen postings about

  • ESPN-3 (especially during commercials)
  • a bunch of Chinese web sites from Xiao
  • some private Flash videos behind a firewall
  • Vevo
  • HBO GO
  • Facebook videos (minimum of "10.3.181.34")

Thanks for the help!

I'm having issues with GameTrailers HD videos.

1) Any HD video I tried from GT

2) Crashes Flash plugin. -- Which actually is an improvement. It could crash Revue itself before the update

3) Very reproducable on my machine. Nothing else is open

Hello Peter,

Add TNT.tv to the list.  Steps:

ctrl-alt-del

home key

chrome

tnt.tv

clicked on "full site"

After a couple movements, the top rotating show banner crashes.  Any attempt to watch full episodes crashes as well.

Please work with Google asap to solve this problem.  This is the very reason I was waiting for the honeycomb update with bated breath...

Re: Please Post - Flash sites/channels/apps having trouble after Android 3.1 update

Peter,

There is a problem with the Live TV.  I thought it was a straight pass-through but since the update the image quality has diminished considerably.  It used to be crisp and clear but now is very soft.  The HD signal no longer looks like HD.

Also I have noticed that the Netflix app seems to drop out (buffers) often and the image is more pixelated than in 2.1.

Thanks

The Revue never did a straight pass-through of the HDMI signal.  It always processed it and relayed it.  This is how the Revue is able to instantly overlay the Google Menus and sounds.

Whenever I hear "soft" being use describe picture quality, it usually means there is some sort of up-scaling that's occuring.  Make sure the ouput that the output resolution of  your set-top box matches the GTV Settings > Picture & sound > Resolution.

I have had the same problems with the Revue since the update.  It's a joke, do they not have a QA departement?  How could they have release the update without at least testing a couple flash sites?  I've removed the device and will probaly throw it in the garbage and get an Apple TV tonight.

After the update, not only did the shockwave flash crash, which I use for viewing HBOGO, I also lost connection to Netflix.

Just confirmed tnt.tv - thanks...  This is a 3-way thing between Logitech, Google and Adobe.
