Alert outdoor camera not working - purple LED

So my outdoor camera stopped working (again).  Previous times it was the Powerline adapter and the SD card.

This time it appears to be the camera itself.  I've pulled the SD card and formatted it, and also reset the camera with the pinhole a few times.

I've taken my indoor camera and put it on the end of the ethernet cable for the outdoor camera and it still works.

I put the outdoor camera on the ethernet cable for the indoor and it does not work, so that means SD card or camera, but in the past a bad SD card was indicated with a different light and I was unable to format the card, so I don't think it's the card this time.

The LED is a steady purple (which the manual says means it's connected to Commander, but Commander does not detect the camera).  Anybody have any ideas before I see if I can get an RMA?

Thanks.

Re: Alert outdoor camera not working - purple LED

Hi rawbar,

Do you have a Security Key in your Logitech Alert System? If yes, could you remove the Security Key?

Please follow the Steps below in order to determine if you have a Security Key enabled:

1) Open your Alert Commander Software

2) Go to Settings

3) Open the Security & Web Option

4) Go to the Advance option

5) Check if the checkbox is checked. If Yes, please uncheck it

Now try to find the camera again.

Give this a try and let me know how did it worked for you.

Kind regards,

Camacho.
I have an issue with the 700n addon. The bottom Led is not working at all.
I need to connect it to 750e master system wich is working perfect.

Re: Alert outdoor camera not working - purple LED

I bought 2 add on outdoor camera's, neither one had a protocol light next to speaker. they could not be found. I was told by tech support that if there is no light next to speaker when you plug them in that means the camera is defective. the 1st camera I received works good anywhere I plug it in. also when I tried paper clip to reset them I could not feel any moment of the button,I told the tech guy someone should check these before sending them out. if the next 2 replacements don't work I want a refund.
