I'm looking for a security camera setup for the following purpose. To take a digital still picture of customer's face for record. I have a few questions about the 700i.
1) Does the software with 700i gives feature to just take still shots?
2) Does it have zoom capabilities?
3) Are pictures clear from 20-30 feet away?
4) What's the pixel quality so I can figure out how much HD space will be needed on my PC?
Other questions regarding the 700e. I like the encloser as it looks more professional in business format.
1) Is the 130 degree wide angle the lens setting or software setting?
2) How good of a still picture will the camera take of people 20-30 feet away?
3) Distance from the computer I can mount the camera?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Hi Gfanc,
I will be glad to answer your questions
1) Our Logitech Alert Cameras can take snapshoots but that functionality is for email alerts.
2) Yes, it does have Pan, Tilt and Zoom capabilities but please note that is a digital zoom
3) Yes, the pictures are clear from 20-30ft
4) The cameras record in 720p
5) The 132 Degrees angle is actually the lens curve angle not the software.
7) The image will be the same as the recording which is 720p
8) The distance depends on the wiring in your house/small business or if you are using POE then it will depend on how long the Ethernet cable is. Just keep in mind that you loose network strength every 100 meters.
I hope this information was helpful.
Kind regards,
Camacho

Re: the 750n Internal system and camera > can it capture and record images only when an entry door is opened, and send that image in email to me (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.), which I could access via a Win7 laptop/notebook? I would not need a system that "continuously" recorded video images.
I've been looking for a security camera/system that can provide that functionality when I am away from my apartment for one full day or longer. I have no need for a security system when I am at home on a day-to-day basis for extended periods.
Best regards, Camacho. You are doing a terrific job in this forum!

Camacho, this reply is a further clarification of my earlier reply above.
I forgot to add that capturing, recording, and sending a short-duration video clip (maybe 10-15 seconds long) would be acceptable for me, as well as, perhaps, as another alternative, 5 or 6 still images captured a few seconds apart for each such "event".
So, the system would be asleep in the "ready" mode, aimed across the living room at the entry door, and then turn on if, and when, the door opened in my absence. It takes a set of still images, or a short video clip, sends them, and then returns to "sleep" mode.

Hi Jade75,
I really think the Alert Indoor Camera and software is the right for you. The software can send you Alerts when your door gets open either to your Email or Phone.
This alerts can be either just text or a snapshot, and if you want to review what your camera recorded at that moment you can log in to your Web Commander and check the video in the PlayBack Mode (only available with Premium Services).
This cameras only record when they detect motion, which you can set some motion zones. Also, you have schedule alerts that go from an hour to a complete day.
You can check more features on the following link:
Logitech Alert™ 750n Indoor Master System with Night Vision
I hope all of this information was helpful.

Thanks for the info, Camacho. It was exactly what I needed to know, and reinforces my belief that I bought the right product. It's scheduled to be delivered next Wednesday or Thursday, 11/7 or 8.
I've gone through the online set-up PDF several times, and it looks fairly simple. The documentation is excellent, as is this forum. I'll keep my fingers crossed, nevertheless.
You guys are really tuned-in to customer satisfaction - kudos to you and the team.
Best regards,
