I need some ideas on outdoor logitech camera placement. Presently I have a cam placed under the house eve of a one story house on the corner to capture my front side yard where I have had several cases of vandalism. Somehow it happened again and my cam didn’t catch it as it was in the far left corner viewing area and at night so I would like to change the location of my camera for better viewing. My question is would be it better still at a high angle or a low on the ground position? I am limited on high areas other than a tree in the middle of my yard or I have thought of hiding the body of the logitech camera in some type of garden statue, planter etc…. but would be lower to ground. Again I am open for ideas as I am tired and want to catch the person or persons responsible for the continuing damage.

You probably know best with your eyes what angle/position would give you the best view. Keep in mind that in night-mode, you can't have anything very close to the lens or the reflected IR will wash-out the view...and too far away the IR light may be too weak ( though you could add a separate IR lamp to extend the illuminated range...the simple fact that they might see the extra "red eyes" of this might deter them as well <g> ).

I never thought of an extra IR lamp so I am looking into it and reading up on it. THANKS for informing me of it!
