installation wiring

I'm installing a 700e security camera by running a wire through an overhanging soffet and want to drill as small a hole as possible. Do I have to drill a hole large enough to fit the yellow plug through or is there some way I can cut the wire, run it back into my house through the very small hole that would accomdate the wire then splice the wire inside the house, or do I have to drill a hole big enough to accomodate the entire yellow plug?

Re: installation wiring

I'm assuming you're running CAT5 to the camera?

If so, probably the easiest thing to do is crimp your own CAT5 cable (this would allow you to make the hole no larger than the CAT5 wire you're running) but you need a special tool and it's important to do it exactly right.  If you're not comfortable doing that, then the only other option would be a hole big enough to fit the entire head through.
