I have a problem getting a couple 700i cameras to work in parts of the house that seem to be out of range or weak voltage at certain points. real weak signal strength. or no connection at all.
I did install a Belkin 5 port range extender upstairs due to a weak wifi signal for my laptop, which really improved the range.
Can I eliminate the large camera power box and connect directly to one of the ports on the rear of range extender?
I dont think it will work from what I have read needing a PoE switch, but thats where I fall off the deep end not knowing about these and how to hook up.
Thanks for any help

Hello rajung,
I'm understanding couple of your Logitech 700i indoor add-on cameras are not being found on the Alert Commander. I'll be more than happy to assist you with this issue.
When you mean the large camera power box, do you mean the camera's power supply unit or the Network Adapter that connects only to the electrical outlet and the router?
Connecting the cameras to a range extender instead of their power supply unit will not help. The only way the camera's power supply units may be replaced is by a PoE switch that meets the following specifications on the following link: Logitech Alert Camera Power over Ethernet (PoE) Requirements
Something that can help with the issues you're experiencing is connecting a Ethernet cable from your Router, to your laptop.
I hope this information helps!
