'Email Me When Someone Replies' Option

[ Edited ]

Hello.

When a checkmark is placed in this box at the top of a new posting that I created, does an email notification get sent that  someone has replied to the post?

If a checkmark is not placed in the box when a new posting is posted, can a checkmark be placed at a later time when replying?

I ask because I had another posting and 'checked the box' when I created the posting but no email notification was sent.

HI Canuck15,

To receive email notifications when a thread is replied to, simply click on the "Topic Options" button and select "subscribe". If you are still not receiving email updates, please check your spam filter and make sure that "mailer@lithium.com" is added to the allow list.

Merely clicking 'Email me when someone replies' at the top of the message does not subscribe me to receive email notifications? What is the point of  having that option then?

As a test. I clicked on 'Subscribe' without placing a checkmark beside 'Email me when someone replies' so when you reply to this message, I 'should' receive an email notification.

What is the difference between 'Subscribe' and 'Subscribe RSS feed?'

Re: 'Email Me When Someone Replies' Option

Hi Canuck15,

Sorry about the misunderstanding. Checking "email me when someone replies" does subscribe you to the thread. The "subscribe" function under "Topic Options" performs the same function. If you did not check "email me when someone replies" at the time when you posted the message, you can subscribe to the thread later by selecting "subscribe" under "Topic Options".

No worries about the misunderstanding.

Checking "Email me when someone replies" and the "Subscribe" function under "Topic Options" perform the same function.

That 'still' does not explain why I did not receive an email notification either time. On my 'original' post, I checked 'Email me when someone replies' and on my last reply I checked the "Subscribe" function under "Topic Options' but I did not receive an email notification either time.

Re: 'Email Me When Someone Replies' Option

Could you please check your email subscription list under "My Settings" --> "Subscriptions and Bookmarks" to see if the thread in question is listed there?

Thanks,

Hello.

I checked under "My Settings, Subscriptions and Bookmarks' but no threads were listed.

When I clicked on the 'Logitech forums' link and scrolled halfway down the page, on the right it showed 'My Subscriptions' and my thread was listed there.

I will click on 'Subscribe' again and then check 'Subscriptions and Bookmarks' again and let you know if it was listed.

It stated 'Subscription Added' but it is not listed.

If the subscription was added, would the thread be listed under 'Subscriptions and Bookmarks' because all I see are settings?

Re: 'Email Me When Someone Replies' Option

Please click on the "Email Subscriptions" sub tab under "Subscriptions and Bookmarks", it should list all threads you've subscribed to.

Here's the direct link to this screen:

Yes, all of the threads that I subscribed to 'are' listed under 'Subscriptions and Bookmarks, Email Subscriptions'  and I am receiving email notifications in my inbox

I understand now that I can click on the 'Email me when someone replies' option before sending the message 'or' click on 'Subscribe' under 'Tool Options' after sending the message.

Thanks for clearing this up.
