Over the years, I have had several Logitech keyboards and mice. But this G510 gaming Keyboard simply hast to be the greatest disappointment yet!
Logitech, why did you even bother to allow letters and numbers on the keys? Keyboard illumination is such a sick joke when paired with such miniscule key designations.
My 25-inch monitor produces enough lighting to utterly swamp the completely inadequate illumination of such nano-scale lettering. Oddly enough I may be one of the statistically inconsequential computerati that actually places their keyboard between their monitor and themselves. My supposition being that the vast majority under the Bell Curve place their keyboards at some substantial angle to axial with respect to their screens.
Otherwise, the conclusion is inescapable that a great many Logitechnicians bump their communal heads as they type-away in one direction while viewing in another......
I love what this keyboard could have been. But I spend so much of my time making corrections to what I type, because of the nano-lettering and totally inadequate backlighting (except for the centered two-line functional display, that I find myself hating what this keyboard actually is!
If the alphanumerics were 100% (2X) what Logitech keyboards sport, and the backlighting could at least be what the 2-inch centered window is on the G510 is, this keyboard would be THE benchmark.
As far as I am concerned, I could turn-off the totally inadequate backlighting, black ink Magic MarkerTM over the keys and be nearly as efficient at typing as I am now!
All I can tell you is that it is a priority to see if I can find a more "visible" gaming keyboard. Something that can sit between my bright LCD monitor and me and still be visible. Since all Logitech keyboards suffer from this inadequacy, it may be some time before I ever venture here again.
Disapponted.
