Idea for a PC or Mac Gaming Controller

I'm using a G13 for WoW, and while I've never had any problems with it, I think it could be designed better.  The problem is the keyboard layout.  A keyboard is good for typing, but for gaming it's awkward; especially the keys in the corner that you have to reach for with your thumb and little finger.   There is a better design for gaming.

My idea is based on the CH Pro Throttle, which is designed for flight sims, but it actually works wonderfully for any button intensive game.  (I can't use it - CH doesn't make anything compatible with MacOS).  The reason that it works so well is that it's not a keyboard; it's intended for HOTAS (Hands on Throttle and Stick) use, meaning all the buttons are placed so that you don't have to take your hand off the throttle to use them.  Also, it's shaped like a handle, instead of being flat, so that it fits naturally into your hand.

So what's needed is a device like that, with multiple 4-switches for the thumb, but instead of a graduated throttle in the base, make it a joystick.  Push forward to go forward, pull back to go back, and side to side for strafing.  The fingers would then be free to push buttons.

You can't really get an idea of how natural and easy this setup is for button intensive gaming unless you've used it, or at least seen what this throttle looks like.  I assigned the action buttons to the 4-ways so the thumb does most of the work.  Then there was an up/down two-way in the front that was perfect for changing action bars.  Your hand is always in a natural, relaxed position.  I used one years ago when I had a PC and it would have been perfect if it had a joystick in the base.   I'd post a link, but I don't know if it  would be acceptable, since it's a competing product.  This message could be deleted as it is.

Logictech does make a throttle, but it has only a few buttons on it, most of which are not on the throttle grip.
