Its over Logitech!

Well Logitech, I can't say that it has been a pleasure.  This relationship has been a disappointment from the start.

I purchased the G930 wireless headset as well as the G700 gaming mouse at the beginning of this year.  Prior that point I had only seen logitech's craftsmenship in the G300 mouse at a friend's house.

Seeing the LGS in action and how easy/convenient it was to set up profiles and macros, I was sold.  I purchased the two products right away.

However, I can tell you now that it was a huge mistake to give business to Logitech, and this is the case for three main reasons:

1)      Terrible quality of the products.   First of all, G700 is supposed to be their highest caliber gaming mouse.  Yet the mouse seems as if it can’t even stand regular office use.  The “G-Keys” are loose and feel wobbly.  The mouse is extremely heavy and uncomfortable to use.  I mean, I knew there was no way to adjust the weight on this mouse unlike other competitors but I did not expect it to feel like a brick.  If you think the G700 is bad, then the G30 headset is literally a joke.  It feels like a cheap toy that can break at any time. This is supposed to be their most expensive, “luxury” headset, but it creaks and groans at even the slightest movement of your head.  Google it and you'll get a flood of similar problems.

Manufacturing = Garbage.

2)      The way the treat their customers.  Several other G700 owners and I have been complaining for an upgrade in the software for months and you can check the Gaming Mice section on this forum.  However, till this day, we have nothing to show for it.  I purchased the GAMING series mouse thinking that I would be able to consolidate the controls and configurations for my GAMING peripherals through ONE software.  After all isn't what the Logitech GAMING software is supposed to do???  No.  Apparently the Logitech GAMING Software does not support their best GAMING mouse.  Go figure right?  Do we get any updates on progress of this implementation?  No.  Does this error on THEIR part even get acknowledged?  No.

Customer Service = Garbage

3)      No hope for the future.  I’m not sure if many of you heard, but recently Valve, PC Gaming Giant, announced that they will be working to bring their games, their engine, and Steam over to Linux.  Why?  Because they realize that Windows 8 will be a catastrophe for gamers, and they want to explore other venues of letting their customers get the most out of their products.  That is a company I admire.  It has principles that I appreciate.  Logitech on the other hand?  You think we will get support for Logitech Gaming Peripherals on Linux?  Hell no.  These guys can’t even get around to supporting their current customers to have G700 support for LGS NOW.  They don’t care how we feel now.  They most certainly do NOT care about how we will feel in the future.

Customer Appreciation = Garbage.

I just want to say, my G930’s died this morning.  How?  Why?  Who the hell knows.  They usually sit on my desk until I need them to play a game without disturbing others.  I have NEVER rough handled them.  Never dropped them.  They have never even left the 2 feet radius of my desk.  And recently due to school and work I haven’t played much in over a month.  I played Dota 2 last night, this headset worked fine.  BUT this morning – no sound from the Right Side.  I don’t care what happened.  Don’t want to know.  I can’t say I’m surprised.

Product Reliability = Garbage.

Good Bye Logitech.

Re: Its over Logitech!

I have to say that as the owner of several Logitech products, I'm quite happy with the way my mouse (mx518), gamepad (F310) and webcam(9000 Pro) function. However, they certainly don't justify the price they ask for, in my opinion, which is quite high. About the headset, my Clearchat Wireless' left speaker stopped working after 1.5 years. For a headset which costs over 60 Euros, I expected more. After some searching I realized many other people suffer from the same problem and there are even guides in Youtube that show how to fix it because it is such a common problem. I think Logitech, like many other greedy companies these days, don't build their products to last, so you'll have to replace them often...Very sad... So my bottom line: If you see some Logitech products on a special sale or something, you can consider buying and it'll probably work fine. But don't buy them at full price, don't expect miracles from their products, and don't expect it to be the last product you'll ever buy, because you'll probably have to replace it after a couple of years. Lesson learned the hard way.

Re: Its over Logitech!

Hello, I'm a old user from logitech. I have my MX518 since 2007 and it still works very well =) I had contact with much logitech peripherals, and all them had a good quality. The one problem with logitech what I had, was a Z506 Audio System that one speaker began to have a noise after 5 months of use, I entered in contact with the costumer support and they asked a few questions and photos from the system and sent to me a new Z506 system after I snaped a photo from my old Z506 destructed by me, because my country doesn't have support to change the system... 2 weeks only and i recieved a new Z506 without pay nothing. I am very happy with logitech and i want the good for the company and that should invest more in game devices support. The competitors companies are growing and is the case of MadCatz... they are doing pherifericals too much expensive but a good support... i wanted a email to contact directly with logitech feedback management
