G'day everyone.
I just would like to leave a comment on the forum for everyone to see and know that Logitech is not very supportive for the clients.
Example is the drivers. How can a company well known as logitech won't provide the drivers for a bit older products to work on windows 7. This is pathetic and unacceptable. They want from people to go to shop and get a new model. Ridicilous.
Customer care is terrible. And the explanation is nothing.
DO NOT BUY LOGITECH - SIMPLY in a 3,4 years time you will be unable to use it.

This is all Logitech's way of saying "time for you suckers to buy a new camera". Oblige them, by buying one from another manufacturer. My first Microsoft live cam, much older than my Logitech QuickCam is still supported by every version of windows and it is made better too.

Logitech used to take a very different approach to their products and their customers, in fact they were pretty much top dog in some products for regular users. I haven't been back on the scene long after a 9-10 year break and what I am seeing here is not only offensive, It is just plain sad. (Kinda like Dell after they landed US Govt contracts) I am truly overwhelmed at the lack of posts such as yours; indeed they are few in number. It's like users have forgotten how to stand up for themselves.
No users, no profit. Maybe not even a "bail out".
If you know anyone who can read and write english who has gotten an Orbit AF or facsimile thereof to work reliably please have them contact me. I'm now retired and can't afford in this economy to just purchase useless electronics. I thought this kind of thing absurd years ago and yet I find even once reputable corporations are becoming deaf to those who really believed in them and wanted to support them.
My Orbit AF arrived with a dead short in the eye-level stand extension and that should have been a clue, such a difficult QC item you know. If I could afford to shell out a couple hundred bucks more several "other" companies swear the problem can be fixed with products they produce in minutes depending on your dl speed.
Cheers,
tim

I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!
STRIP EVERY TRACE OF LOGITECH FROM YOUR COMPUTER. FIND LWS 1.10 FOR ORBIT AF AND INSTALL IT. DO NOT INVOKE UPDATES FOR VID ! UNINSTALL VID AFTER COMPLETING INSTALL. VID WILL DEMAND UPDATE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. SHUT IT DOWN AND DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATED FORGET VID!.
Do the install this way and everything else will work fine, Skype, Win Messenger etc ad nauseum. Remember that's 1.10 Do not install Newer drivers or software.
Any have a problem or finds a newer version that works please contact me and DO share the solution Here. Thanks all.
