Online ordering - never again.

Talk about a scam.  I've been buying Logitech products since the late 1980's (yup, that old) and still love them.  A week before Christmas, I was checking out gaming keyboards and mice, and on the Logitech website, found the G15 keyboard (2007) and G500 mouse for 99.95.  What a great deal, and said they were in stock too.  Cool.  Ordered them right away, next day, got an email saying they were shipped and with tracking number.   Wow, what great communication and speed of shipping.  Had some vacation days left, so took off next day when supposed to be delivered.  Was pretty excited since this was my Christmas present from my wife.  Got the knock on the door,  excitement rising, will get to play with these babies before Christmas, can't wait.  Opened the door, UPS driver there, held out package, then all the air went out of that excitement.  It was only a small box.  Opened it up, and there was the mouse.  But where was the keyboard.  Checked inside box, no mention of backorder.  Checked email, no backorder.  Called customer service, after holding a long time.  Was then told that they had run out of those keyboards, and that they're getting 2 more shipments in 2 days later, and then another the next week, which would've been around 12/28/11.  She said she doubts my keyboard will ship from the one in  a few days, so next week at the longest.  Ok, dissappointed, but can live with that.  I wait until the next week, a day after she said it would ship at the latest.  Check email, check my order online, nothing.  Call customer service again, hold.  A rep gets on the phone, explain to her all that has happened, and then I get told in a matter of fact way "You're not getting that keyboard.  We're not getting anymore.  We only had 300 and we sold 350 of them online."  After I asked about how a computer company can sell more than they have in stock, then not send a backorder message too, or even try to notify me about it was absurd, she really didn't care.

What bothered me most of all was they sent the mouse and charged me for it right away.   I bought these 2 in a package, if I just wanted a mouse, I would have just bought a mouse.  No call or email stating that we don't have the keyboard but asking if I still wanted the mouse.  And then the runaround.

Ok, after all of that hassle.  I decided to look at other keyboards.  Found the G110 online for 59.95.  Looks great, great deal.  Go ahead and try to order it and the web site says there's an error after a minute delay after submitting it and to try again later.  My wife suggests to see how much it is at stores here local.  Found it at one with after a rebate for 59.95.  Before I go and get that, after having so much trouble with ordering on the Logitech site, I check my bank account just to make sure no order was made.  And there it was,  Logitech online had charged my credit card for the keyboard.  I called customer service again, since it's only supposed to charge your card when it ships.  They said it will be shipping that day.  So I blow off the plans to go to the store and decide to wait for the keyboard to arrive.   Check order status, say's will ship in 3 business days, no shipment stated.  Still on my credit card pending.  Call customer service again, can't believe how bad this whole deal has been.  I get informed that I have to wait 3 days before I call them.  After I inform him that it WAS the third day, and the end of it, he then sends an email to the shipping department, still saying they have 3000 in stock (which they said when I ordered it).  I get an email back later that evening, Oh, I won't be getting that keyboard for another month.  They don't have them in stock (?????????????????) and the next shipment won't be until January 29th of 2011.  No apology, just all like, this is the way it always is and you should accept it, just like the other times I contacted them.  How crazy.  Cancelled that order, went to best buy and now they'll get their cut out of the money like that have in the past.

Long story I know, sorry.  But almost turned me off to Logitech totally.  Too bad I love the products so much and have been a very long time buyer.  Will start checking into the many other companies making these products next time I buy though.  One thing for sure, will never ever trust ordering online with them ever again.

Re: Online ordering - never again.

I am also having an online ordering frustration too........... :smileysad:

I ordered my Logitech - Extreme 3D Pro on 1/22/11.

I got an e-mail a saying I ordered it... with links that didnt work.

Apparently the links were suppose to be for TRACKING. (has not worked).

Today 1/25/11 I received an e-mail that confirmed my purchase and my card has been charged.

I thought... "well now, I will be able to track the order"... and tried the new link and nothing.

I tried to sign on to check order status and it wont allow me to sign on... lol

Despite that fact that I am sign on here RIGHT NOW..... **bleep**!!!!!

I would love to have this site be like newegg or amazon.

You know, they send you a confirmation and infor on your billing.

Then when the order ships you get a link to UPS or DHL, or USPS (how ever it ships),

with a shipping number so you can track your order.......

An e-mail to support said "we can help you"...

Then it goes on to say to check the wensite... LMFAO!!!!!

this is just a sick joke.... but I'm not laughing!!!

I have to agree... I dont believe I will be buying on Logitechs site again...

Hi silveraudio,

I am sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. I will escalate your support ticket and make sure everything works out for you.

Unfortunately, the e-commerce web store does not share the same user database with the support site/community at this time. I will be sure to forward your feedback to the web team for consideration.
