Help! My Z-560 sub just blew

My Dearest internet brethen,

I have my Z-560 4.1 speakers since 2002, they have far and away been my best purchase.  I have not so much had a glitch from then untill last week when the sub blew.  I tried reseting the switches, turning it off/on, etc.., and it still wont work.  The electrical system works in the sub, this i know b/c my 4 sats still produce quality sound.  Quality sound that lacks any and all mid and low ranges.  I would like to the forums input on the following questions:

1. Is it possible to fix my sub?

2. If no to 1,  where can i buy it cheaply?

3. My sub is rated for 188 watts.  Will any Logitech sub work?  Do i specifically need to buy a Z560 sub?

Personally I would just sell it as-is on ebay and pick up a new set of speakers. If you really want it fixed you can look for a professional although you would have to pay for their service, and they may or may not be able to fix the problem anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Help! My Z-560 sub just blew

well, i wasnt thinking about a professional.  I was asking if i could somehow diagnose the problem myself, and if so, if the subs are known to be easy to fix?

If it cant be fixed, do I need to specifically buy a Z-560 sub or will any 4.1 sub do?

Well if you could diagnose the problem yourself you wouldn't be asking. So in either way, you'd have to ask a professional.

Hi All,

I doubt it was the actual speaker. When they go you get distinct sounds. It is probably the amp for the sub. New speakers will be cheaper than fixing yours.
