Logitech V20 Notebook Speakers USB Device not recognized Vista OS

[ Edited ]
When I plug in my brand new speakers I keep getting a message USB device not regognized and Windows is showing that the USB device has malfuntioned and it does not recognize it.  I've unplugged and replugged several times but to no avail I get the same answer.  When I click on the message it says to try reconnecting the device and if Windows still does not recognize it try replacing it.  I thought the speakers were just plug in play.  Am I missing something here?

The speakers are plug and play.  Do you have another computer to test them on?  This is either a speaker problem or a system related USB problem.
