Magnetic shielding

I just purchased a set of Z-4 speakers and can't find out if these speakers are shielded or not. If they are how close to the hard drive can they be? And if not shielded how far away should they be?

Re: Magnetic shielding

Hi, the magnets in the Z-4 are way too small to have an effect on anything.

Re: Magnetic shielding

You can put it right beside the hard drive with no problems. But of course youd leave a little space as
breathing room for the speakers.

Re: Magnetic shielding

I am really confused, as I just received an email from tech support, and he told me that the speakers should be at least 30 cm away from the hard drive. That distance makes for problems for my set up. I would prefer to keep it the 4" that I have them now, or even closer.

Re: Magnetic shielding

Hi, that was just to clear Logitech's part if anything would happen to your hard drive. The sub only has a 4" driver inside, really nothing to worry about. The only system that comes with such warning is the Z-5500 cause it has a 10" driver, but ive seen them setup right beside the hard drive with no problems.
