Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Aah I see I always figured they lied about the frequency.

Hmm well then it would seem marketing really is about fooling people best way to know whats good is really proper reviews I guess. :smileyhappy:

Ow well I guess the Z5500 will do it still sounds nice anyways.

You ever wondered why Klipsch stopped making 5.1 pc speakers?

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Reviews are for the most part, are just paid advertisements. For hi end audio, like Stereophile or Home Theater Mag, when a speaker **bleep**, the reviewers won't say it, but if you can read a graph, you can see by the slew measurements they provide that the product just plain **bleep**.

The problem with pc electronics reviewers is that not only are they paid schills, but they have no proper equipment to gather data/measurements that a reader can use. So effectively its nothing more than a radio ad with pictures.

Klipsch's only 5.1 system was the 5.1 Promedia, which was "updated" by the 5.1 Ultra (slightly larger sub). Their only other systems were the 2.1, 4.1, and the v2-400 Promedias. Logitech has released a ton of multimedia speakers, alot of which overlap, and a lot of which aren't actually any different from their predecessors other than a cosmetic change. The large numbers of different products makes it confusing to buyers, in my opinion.

My guess is Klipsch found the PC speaker market unprofitable. Klipsch recently bought Energy, Athena, and Mirage speaker brands. They've got (passive) speakers starting from $200 to $20,000, which covers a huge market. I'm sure they're making a ton of money right now.

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Yeah good point thats probably the reason they just decided to hell with pc speakers and only build cheap 2.1

Those klipsch are **bleep** expensive though imagine a 20hz sub from klipsch is like $1000 USD **bleep**?? lol

Well they claim its 20hz anyways at that price I bet its pretty close to what they say.

BTW Astralite I bought this Sennheiser HD555 headphones cause my mother wants to kill me for blasting this Z5500 and I don't even have it more than Quarter volume steups. So I just decided to get a good headphone instead.

Now the sennheiser sounds fantastic but one problem however the Asus Xonar DX sound card I have is garbage even with the MAX bass settings on the sound card and max EQ setting in both the xonar and WMP the bass still **bleep** on the headphones.

The Audigy 2 ZS I had actually had thos bass/treble slider in the tone control settings also in the software in the Audigy to plyus it had something called bass boost. I tell you man it made a trillion times better more powerful bass than this useless Xonar DX.

I am gonna trade the Asus Xonar DX for an old Audigy 2 ZS you think this is a good idea?

The reviews I read said the Xonar was the greatest thing since sliced bread 116db and thing man if yuh check them eh how it sounds identical to the DX2 Xonar and how its a card that just loves music. And the morons did use a headphone to do these reviews BTW.

Boy when Transexpress delivered me this card I could swear I would be blown away instead I was blowing inside a sh!t hole.

This was like the biggest disappointment ever I had to AMP the EQ so high that it obviously started to sound distorted in that vocals died when bass was hitting like that.

I remember my old Audigy 2 ZS having that bass and treble slider when I adjusted that it was as if I was adjusting a hardware powered bass knob. Infact it was so bassy at times I had to turn down the bass. The xonar DX is very clean BTW very very clean but no bass. Unless u max the EQ all the way up.

Man you think I making a wise choice here by trading this Xonar for that audigy 2?

best I just tell the guy don't bother how i just realized the card won't work with vista and make up some crap so nah. To make he think I aint playing he.

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Klipsch don't make very good subs, they are a speaker company foremost, they only release subs due to customer demand to fit in the decor of their "black and gold" uniform color scheme. I would stick away from Klipsch's subs. They don't go very deep for the price.

If you want an Audigy 2 you're betting off selling the Xonar and buying the old Audigy 2, it'll probably save you some money in the process. I can't comment on the bass issue, seems you really like bass...

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Yeah if is one thing I love is low deep detailed bass thats easy on the ears. :smileyhappy:

dats why I bought these headphones it costs much less as opposed a similar loud speaker. The bass in these sennheiser HD555 is like one of the most magnificant things I ever heard in my life.

I am gonna sample that Audigy 2 ZS and once it agrees with me the its audigy FTW!!!

the cord in these phones are like 10 foot long little to long to be honest. Its open so sound leak like a little speaker sometimes people ask me if I am deaf. ROFL

But once it can reproduce my Shakira music I good to go. I got all her music and I'll go the distance just to hear her beautiful voice in all its glory. She sounds even better in spanish though. Dude I even went and learn Spanish just to enjoy shakira's music. lol

I love that woman. I should get myself a Colombian wife. hmm  best @ss in the world man I never seen a but like that in my life. Such perfect hips. lol

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

if you love your bass i would recommend a diff set of headphones to the sens tbh, dont get me wrong its hard to get highs even close to as good for the price but for bass (after trying pretty much all the headphones that were recommended in the price range) you really cant go past Technics headphones - i got the rp-dh1200 and the bass is awesome, also as they are designed for DJ club use they have very good sound insulation. i love them, and after reading many reviews on both these and my Z-5500 set i have realised that i also love my bass, as most reviewers say these systems are "bass heavy" and almost all audiophiles really blast them for this reason - guess they dont have my ears, go figure

Audiophiles don't own computer speakers, and if they do, probably only use 2-channel sets and can barely stand to use them as it is. I personally only use them for travel speakers or if I need them for some choral practice sessions. That said, I consider myself an audiophile and can barely stand (most) computer speakers.
It's like going back to 56k internet or a smaller computer monitor. For example, I consider 24" the bare minimum threshold I could possibly use these days, prefering 26" and up. But, luxury = cost. Not everyone has the budget.

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

Yeah life **bleep**. If there were any justice I would be married to Shakira.

And well audiophile speakers would be $1 or so.

But such is life so many are forced to stick with cheapo stuff. I find the sennheiser to also be lacking in bass aswell however the vocals are quite stunning. So I guess the trade off ain't so bad. Sennheiser claims the HD555 is audiophile thats why I bought it. Headphones cost only 1/10th the price of a similar loud speaker of same quality sound.

But **bleep** why didn't I be the lucky one to marry Shakira. WHY GOD WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate life it just **bleep**!!!!

Re: When a new big 5.1 system from logitech will release??

In my opinion, if you want the sub to hit low, redesign the box.  It may not hit as low as you want, but give it a try.  I know when i used an onkyo enclosure for my z680 sub, it was louder on a 75 rms amp compared to the 188 rms logitech gives.  Plus the sub, hit lower and it almost sounded like a clean 12".  Also the dustcap didn't heat up as quick in a bigger enclosure.  In my opinion, it could be the amp or it could be the enclosure for the sub.
