Speaker - General Discussion

Hi, recently the front left channel on my z-680's stopped working. Just that one channel. I connected a different speaker to see if the speaker was the problem, but it wasn't. I've also tried using different sources, but that channel still doesn't work. So im pretty sure it's something in the subwoofer unit that is awry, and i'm not sure if its easily fixable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, what connections are you using? Make sure all the plugs are securely in place.

Im using direct and coaxical connections. All the plugs are securely in place.

Oh, and another thing. When I use the speaker test on my sound card, when i test the front left speaker, sound comes from the subwoofer.

Hmm, how about the test on the remote control?

Again, nothing from the front left channel. And you know how all the speakers exude a little bit of white noise? Non from the front left speaker.

Hmm, it seems like something internally wrong with the amp, not much you can do, possibly take it to a repair shop, but it could cost more than buying a new system.

Yeah, thats what I was afraid of. I was planning on upgrading to the z-5500's soon, but was hoping to be able to sell my z-680's. Won't sell for much broken. Oh well, they served me well. Thanks for the help!
