3 Cables (Green/Orange/Black) and ONLY one Green Jack

I have a new computer at work (Dell) and with it came the Logitech X-540 Speaker System.  The Speakers have 3 cables (Green/Orange/Black) but the computer only has one jack (Green).  I have plugged the Green Cable into the Green Jack, but I can't get the Sub to work.  I have pressed the "Matrix" button to get the surround to work, but the Sub will not.

The soundcard is a SoundMAX HD Audio.  I even went into the control panel and changed the properties for the soundcard to indicate the surround sound system.

Am I just out of luck, or does anyone have any ideas?  Maybe a splitter?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 3 Cables (Green/Orange/Black) and ONLY one Green Jack

I'm assuming you have either the G51, X-540, or the X530, as they are the only systems with Matrix.

Are you sure the sub volume is turned up?

If it is, and the sub is still not working then you may have a defective set.

I would hten suggest you contact logitech for a replacement.
Or if you can, contact Dell for a replacement, as from dell it would be faster then a replacemetn from logitech.

Re: 3 Cables (Green/Orange/Black) and ONLY one Green Jack

The sub doesnt work because the sub runs off the Orange cable. If u only have the green cable hooked up, you dont have the sub hooked up.

Black = Rear left and right.
Green = Front left and right.
Orange = Center and Subwoofer.

You need some kind of adapter.

something like this maybe.

Hope this helps

that's a hdmi > female analog output cable. think that one comes prepackaged with the creative sound card.

Hi All,

That cable is one that comes with a Creative Audigy2 PCMCIA 5.1 sound card. It provides the analog outputs for the card. The 3.5mm jacks are Optical in and out respectively. Most laptops do NOT have HDMI connectors on them.

I own one of these cards.

Actually, to the best of my knowledge the X-530 does NOT have a Matrix Mode.

. . . . . Just a point of clarification . . . .
