Connecting X 540 to AV receiver

Hi guys,

I've just bought this Pioneer receiver,

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/42/98/405/VSX-818V-S/index.html

and have been trying unsuccessfully to connect the Logitech x-540 speakers to it

> I have connected the speakers to the Logitech subwoofer, then connected that to the subwoofer pre-out on the back of the receiver and have no sound output, any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance for your help and comments.

Re: Connecting X 540 to AV receiver

Hi, you do not need to hook up the X-540 to a receiver, but if you are using it for switchin purposes, try connecting the

system to the red and white RCA audio output on the rear bottom of the receiver.

PC Specs: C2Q Q6600 @2.4Ghz, 3gb DDR2 memory, ATI Radeon HD2600PRO, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Logitech Z-5500, Logitech Z-5300e, Logitech Z-2300e Logitech EX110, Logitech Quick Cam Chat, Logitech diNovo for keyboard, Logitech VX Revolution, Samsung SyncMaster 203B, LG 206WTQ

I had a question, if I use this method and connect my subwoofer to a receiver will I be able to control it wirelessly with the receiver's remote?  My remote died so I'm looking for a way to salvage my system.

Re: Connecting X 540 to AV receiver

What do you mean I do not need to hook them up directly to the reciever? In order to set up the reciever it says I need the microphone to set it up aka I have to hear them. Do I go get the RC adapter? Thnx
