Speakers

I have a game that I know for sure (or can't really tell..I tried putting my ears near rear speakers) that doesn't have 5.1 surround so I hit Matrix Mode. No voices. 

Now I did a search and all I find is "its your hardware/speakers" with no real results. 

But what can I do to fix this?
