Hello,

I have a G51 system for a long long time now and 2 of my rear speakers seem to be broken. It's only the two top speaker who are defect.

So naturally i turned to the support to find a replacement for the two rear speakers. First response: We don't make them anymore, buy new ones.

I reply, please give me the hardware specification in order to change them myself.

Second response: Logitech dosen't give this kind of information.

So, since my system works at 90% of its capacity and since i don't want to buy a new one i'm looking for someone else to help me.

The only specifiction i could get were these: 20 watts RMS into 8 ohms @ 1khz @ 10%THD

Is this enough to buy new ones and if it is, were can i find some?

roelli, you can buy a new satellites, or you can just buy the drivers. logitechs' drivers are commonly made by TangBand.In G51, the drivers are probably 2inch fullrange driver.

one of the way to fix your speakers is to get a pair of 2" tangband full range driver, ~10W at 4 ohms, and connect them in series (to get the 20W @8ohms) to replace your failing satellites. example: http://www.tb-speaker.com/detail/1230_04/w2-835sl.htm but the problem is they can be expensive and thus not worth the investment.

if you want to get full specification, i afraid you need to open your satellites and see what's inside it.

I already opened the satellite and didn't find any writing that could help. I should check again though.

Buying new satellites seems problematic since they don't make them anymore.

Buying the drivers is exactly what i am looking for.

usually people buy tangband drivers from http://www.parts-express.com or https://www.madisound.com, but at around $17 per driver i personally think it's very expensive. but if you want it then there should be no problem.

that should do it, although this one http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-808 looks more like the original driver.

Hi,

I successfully repaired my speakers with two 5 watts 2" 4 ohms drivers.

It costed me about 25 dollars.

Thanks to the community, shame on you Logitech for NOT helping me in this.
