We listen to a lot of music on our computer and were listening to music on the Zune player one evening before going out and the next day no sound at all worked. I have done everything from re-flashing the bios to making sure my sound drivers are up to date to upgrading the computer to windows 7.

A different set of 2-channel speakers works

Does anyone have a method that I can use to test the speaker system to be sure it isn't dead?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi dnelson1969,

You can try a different audio source to check if your G51 is dead or not or try it with a XP or vista Computer.

I just bought these of newegg and they were working fine last night while i had the headphones olugged into the headphone jack on the unit. then suddenly there was no sound while watching youtube. I realized there is no power going to the speakers it seems like. it wont turn on. tried different plugs still now luck.

In your case, probably the reason for this is with the power box of your G51, I would suggest that you take it back to the store where you bought it from.

I am having the exact same symptoms with my g51 system.  It just stopped working all together.  Power is going to it the control pod is active and responds but its like the whole system is stuck in mute.  My headphones and other speakers still work but not the g51.  Did you every find any solution?

I'm quite disappointed with logitech recently.  This will be my third logitech product to fail on me this year and I'm afraid that this system is beyond my warranty period.

Yeah, that sounds like the same problem. I never did find a solution. It's just junk as far as I'm concerned. I'll likely not buy another logitech sound system. It's sad, really. I liked the sound and the price was right.
