I stupidly knocked my control pod for my z5500s off my desk last week. The screen cracked and no sound is coming out of them anymore. Since it was my fault, I understand it won't be covered under warranty. Is there any way I can purchase a replacement POD from logitech?

That is such a bummer( to hear.

Fortunetly you cant get another pod for the system cause it wount work.

The only thing you can do is to try and RMA the system without mentioning the fact it falled.

You can buy an amplifier and hook the system up to it.

I think youll need new box for the sub driver.

IF you cannot or do not want to spend the time trying to go thru all of what was mentioned above. I will gladly buy the subwoofer unit from you. 

My little brother purchased a z-5500 form an auction but did not know he needed the sub.

Which  unfortunately was sold  seperatly in the auction. ( stupid I know)

I have been looking everywhere for a sub for this system.

I will but the whole system if I must.  for a reasonable price.

Hi, the Z-5500 will ONLY work with the control pod it originally came with. Myself and few other people have tried and its proven that logitech "encodes"  the control pod and sub to only match with the set it came with.

I would tell Logitech your situation... the support here is by far the best I've ever experienced they may be willing to help you out in some way

But am I reading correctly that I  cannot simply get a subwoofer for this system?( Have the rest of  it )

Just curious because I have read that I can and that I cannot.

( so do I listen to a  admin guru or just someone on the boards who says so?)

My brother purchased the z-5500 an auction.

I would have to purchase an entire new system?  I hope not ,What a crock!

Hi omek, believe me, ive tried it and my friends have too. But if you don't want to trust me...you can waste your effort in finding the pod then connect it to just find out it dosent work

I understand that.   I have a pod and all the satelites. I just need a subwoofer to hook it all together. But  from what I am reading  it will not work? Seems like a scam to me to make you buy a complete new set. very shortsighted  by logitech. these things break and people will sell them off. but new owners have no way to replace defective or missing parts with no return policy for those people. : ( .
