Speakers

I have plugged in my new LS11 speakers as per instructions but no sound. When I check the audio device the only option is Realtek AC97 Audio - Is that the sound card in my computer? In the list of Sounds & Audio devices hardware, the logitech ls11 are not there. So it appears that my computer hasn't recognized the new hardware. There were no drivers with the speakers as i believe they weren't necessary. Could you please advise me how to get my pc to recognize the speakers. Thank you <

II was always told when I worked in iT to look for the simplest things first when troubleshooting!! I'm not used to having a volume control on my old speakers so by just turning it on on my new LS11 speakers they are working perfectly. Meanwhile I've picked up lots of info on stuff like Bios. So no need to respond to my question. SylviaT
