I purchased the Logitech X-540 set about a month ago and in my time having it, I noticed that the volume knob, when turned to a certain position, causes the sound on the speakers to go in and out in rapid succession.
Another problem results when I listen to music. The music I have, which is stereo, plays in 5.1 even when the Matrix Mode is not enabled. This does not happen for music played through Youtube.
Any ideas?

Hello TruthBeTold,
I can see why you are baffled, that is very strange indeed and not normal operation for the speakers. Try testing them on another PC and if do not see the same issue, perhaps you should entertain the thought that your sound card is on it's way out. If you do see the same issue, please contact the customer support team in your region for further assistance, including a possible warranty replacement.
Regards,
